  • Our NRL Club and The Voice

Will our club be telling our players to vote Yes in the Indigenous Voice referendum?
Telling our supporters to do the same.
The NRL has reportedly *signed up* to support the Yes vote in The Voice referendum later this year.
Athletes from 20 sports rallied at Nth Sydney oval today to support the Yes vote, as their sports have reportedly *signed up* to vote Yes.

Were there any of our players at the Yes rally today?

The NRL and 20 other sports have now entered politics, reportedly campaigning for a Yes vote...not urging their players and fans to fully inform themselves of both the Yes and No campaigns and then deciding how to vote in the referendum.

I'll be very disappointed in our Club if it joins the NRL in its Yes campaign.
Some respected and wise Indigenous elders are urging a No vote...the Voice is not as simple as just recognising Indigenous Australians in the Constitution.

OfCourse they will. This is the same club that had the captain promoting the clot shot. The level of pandering for the "newest thing" is nauseating and im sure it gets robbo hard.

When I read the title I thought one of our players was entering the singing comp on whichever network does it.

Your going to be disappointed then because without a doubt the Roosters club will be voting yes & so will I be.

LOL I remember that and I remember some on here excitedly pointing it out to myself who refused to take it, like because the club and captain endorsed it I should take it

Unsure what to make of the voice but after the clubs stance and support of the clot shot If they do involve themself and give their opinion I might head in the opposite direction

                      No.
Of course, now anyone who says they're going to vote no for whatever reason/s, is being branded "racist".
                      LOL
Some Indigenous leaders are saying they'll be voting no.

Do you know what you'll be voting Yes to, exactly?
Or will you be voting Yes because of "the vibe"?
Wonder why the Club will be voting Yes, if it does.

                        Where's the model?
                        Where are The Voice's 'legals'?
What are we voting Yes or No to, exactly?
Where is all the wording that's going to be enshrined in our precious federal Constitution?

If people vote Yes, are they 'buying' whatever's in the mystery box?

It's seems like "the Republic", "vote Yes and we'll work out all the details later."
The People didn't fall for that.

The Voice is not just recognising our First Nations People in the Constitution...I would vote Yes if it were just that.

"The Voice: what is it, where did it come from, and what can it achieve?"

                          Scroll down, this arrives:

"The Voice is also an important stepping stone towards other key reforms in the relationship between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and the state - in particular,
treaty and truth as described in the Uluru Statement.

The sequencing of Voice, Treaty, Truth has been given significant thought.

Voice precedes Treaty because fair, modern treaty negotiations require first the establishment of a representative Indigenous body to negotiate the rules of the game with the state. "

                          #####

                          Wonder what that's all about?

I wish our club (and the NRL for that matter) would just leave politics alone. Their in the wrong house.
