But the thread you’re referring to was about the banner and my comments to you were admittedly too strong for what the topic was about and I’m sorry about that. Some people may see carrying the banner as dorky / geeky or whatever, but I’m a bit of a dork myself at heart as is the other half and my son. My son has ASD (high functioning) and so I’m just very protective of ‘geeks’ or people being mocked because they do geeky things. But as far as the misogyny is concerned we’re on the same page.
It's all good MR. I hope you guys have a blast. For kids, parents with kids, etc it takes on a different meaning imo. Grown men waving flags, crying over losses and having tantrums over footy deserves mockery imo. Think of Ray Stehr crying over a game and the resulting vitriol towards the coach and team. Those types are sickening to me. Children.

I was a flag waver as a kid but gave it away at about 13 lol. I want to see if I can watch the replay on Kayo and screenshot Lurch to use as my new avatar.

What about the pearler I’ve just called out as BS ( I’ve asked for proof ) in the Lucky Dips thread

Yes I believe the lies run deep with that one. In fact I don't believe a single word from it.

My son is 20 now and no he's not interested in sport so he wouldn't be interested in waving banners. I did have him following the Roosters when he was younger but when he turned 13 he found his own interests. But when you're on the spectrum, you're always on the spectrum and as adults many individuals with ASD do have obsessive interests which can be seen as dorky. Not that I'm suggesting anything about thirteen, I was just trying to explain why I said what I said on that thread. I'm just defending people's rights to be dorky. But I do accept that you are able to express your own opinion on the subject. I also agree with you about grown adults chucking a tanty when the team loses. It's one thing to be disappointed and upset but abusing the coach and players is taking it too far. IMO of course.

This is what prompted my comment up thread which Voods said was insensitive. My post in Lucky Dips was sincere but 5 minutes later more innuendo was cast. It may not have been cast at me but who knows. Again, I wish her well with the operation and health battles. I have empathy for anyone who has to go through any sort of major surgery. Anyone who knows me or what I've been through with my family recently in regard to health battles should never question my sincerity on that.

I'm a dork or a nurd in my own way too so I get your point. I'm actually a herbal vaping nurd. I probably have one by the best collections of herbal vaporisers in Australia. Some of them are rare and hand made and no longer available or involved years long waiting lists. Some are the newest technological devices available. I also make my own hashish and cannabis oil as well so the level of nurd obsession in me must be high lol Some people would think that is a dorky thing to do as well. Whatever makes people happy is fine for the most part. On the other hand what we all put out on the forum about ourselves should always be fair game to be used against us imo. Tobin mentioned the white flag and was never allowed to forget. Big Mike called Tedesco the most over-rated and had to leave and find a new nickname. Idiots call me a druggie lol. I'm the kind of forum adversary that will take advantage of every possible angle to annoy someone whether I agree with what I am saying or not.

Lol...looks like I should be more careful about what I put on here about myself! That's an interesting collection and like you say whatever makes you happy. I'm a music nerd and have collected lots of albums on vinyl and CD over the years. That all sounds pretty boring but I've run out of cabinet space in the lounge room so have had to make some hard decisions on culling and transferring some to my itunes library. I'm also an obsessive planner and organiser and list maker.

My wife is also a obsessive list make .And that's how she remembers to get me to do things .Long list .I'm in the building trade and when we were younger built out first home but as I was busy working for others I never finished the little things. 7 years later we were selling and Jen asked , demanded I do them before sale .I said make me a list and she did .It took me half a day to fix them and I thought I did a good thing .But no .Her response was She waited 7 years for me to do half a day's work.
