That just reminded me, what happened to Ray’s SBW post. Looks like it was deleted.

Unfortunately, one of the great "truth tellers" Australian journalist John Pilger died last week in the UK. Vilified by our joke media of course, Pilger had won a raft of international journalistic awards and was a prolific film documentary maker all of which can be seen on Youtube. He was also friend and untiring supporter of Julian Assange, our other great Australian hero. It sickens me to see and hear the outrage of our media when some lunatic is arrested in China after going there to cause trouble yet so little is done by our Government to free Assange for fear of offending the US. There is no point, of course, looking to our "media" to whip up its fake outrage in Assange's case.
PS There is a revealing series of articles on Menadue about the degree of political polarisation in the US. Our fate is tied to it more's the pity and a Trump promoter owns our media. Something has to be done about that.
I don't envisage the crap we get force fed by main stream media to change anytime soon.
Better off sticking to local news and the internet.

HNY to you also Eddie. Did I mention that Brian Fletcher (ex Paddo Colt) was the presenter at the Colts' recent end of season award night at the Clovelly Hotel. I told him I'd recently seen his cheerio to you on the site and commended him for it.
Incidentally, French President Macron recently visited China and returned warning Europe not to get involved in US chicanery and intrigues. Funny it wasn't reported here, not the warning anyway.

Macron's trip to China was in April, and his "warning" to Europe about the US was all over the news, even in The Guardian. Unfortunately for Macron it seems no one cares what he has to say these days.....including Xi who didn't act on Macrons request that he urge Xi's best friend Putin to put an end to the Ukraine war.
Speaking of Ukraine.....120,000 Russian troops and 70,000 Ukrainian troops dead, 10,000 civilians killed and 300,000 casualties on both sides. Thats a real high price to pay to still not achieve the goal of “denazification, demilitarisation and a neutral status” of Ukraine. Maybe those big bad Nazis are hiding amongst the weapons of mass destruction in Iraq! Didn't old Vlad look uncomfortable in church the other day for their Orthodox Xmas....he looked like he was thinking " i hope there isn't a God or im fuked!!"

Point taken Randy and HNY to you too.
I don't waste any time on the MSM anymore and had no reason to think that Macron's message would be unreported apart from the impression that it is difficult to find anything at all complimentary about China in the Western MSM. The Guardian, to me, is now like the ALP, conservative, Anglosphere and disappointing in the extreme and that began with its coverage of Jeremy Corbyn and its promotion of charges "anti-semitism" in his Labour Party and continued with its coverage of the Ukraine - devoid of any context, just gung ho pro Western propaganda. As Mark Twain observed, “The researches of many commentators have already thrown much darkness on this subject, and it is probable that, if they continue, we shall soon know nothing at all about it.”
Why would China, embattled as it is, urge the equally embattled Russians (surrounded by the offensive NATO) to cave in to US hegemony? You appear to think that, as in Palestine, the US is a disinterested onlooker and not the instigator of the Ukraine tragedy. You don't think that 20 million dead and untold destruction due to fascist bellicosity in living memory is justification enough for ensuring that there won't be a repeat?
I assume that the Guardian is where you got your war stats? Other sources suggest a completely different picture - failure everywhere on the Uke side and a Russian "victory" imminent. Bankie to Bellevue Hill suggests a particular mindset but surely it is not a completely closed one.Last edited by Paddo Colt 61; 01-09-2024, 09:50 AM.

The "Palace Letters" program (ABC 8/1/24) is essential viewing for anyone spruiking our wonderful "democracy". Almost amazingly, the National archives fought tooth and nail on the orders of the Conservative government, to keep the letters secret. The explanation for wanting to keep our history secret from us was to preserve the dignity of the Crown? Say what??
Of course most Australians have never heard of the Palace Letters nor would they know anything about the Whitlam Coup - the chichanery and conspiracy that went on was the real reason that exposure was so strongly resisted. Several Courts (including the Federal Court) upheld the secrecy requirement before the High Court rejected those earlier judgements. Who knew that we had a Deep State, an Establishment of media, Intelligence and the Judiciary that makes a joke of our wonderful "democracy".

Doubtless ol' Vlad is cynical about organised religion as he would be, he's intelligent after all. The Soviets had mixed success at de-mystifying the Sheeple which only goes to show that by definition 50% of any human population is below average intelligence. In that case, it makes sense, and always has, to sponsor mysticism as long as you control it. Silly old blokes in robes claiming to commune with "Gods" ffs! It has always amazed me that a demonstrably intelligent cohort like the Jews buy the bullshit but then it comes in handy when your claim to someone else's land is "sacred" and "promised" by Yahweh.
I've mentioned this before but there is an excellent Russian movie called "Leviathan" (Netflix?) which was commissioned by Putin's government to portray contemporary (at the time) post Soviet Russia. The result was disowned by the government as it showed a corrupt, morally bankrupt, hypocritical establishment with the church involved in it eyeballs deep. Ironically, we can take no "superior" attitude from that Russian experience given something like the saga of the Palace Letters.
Don't be deterred, it's not dry and political. There's a human story which, like the bigger picture is also depressing in its own way. And Russian cinema, acting and production values, is so good at that level.

I'd like to quote the death numbers from information supplied by the Kremlin direct, however they don't think it's anyone's business (for some reason!).....so sources like the UN and Al Jazeera can fill in the plugs. Anywhere you can suggest i could find the death and casualty stats of the Ukraine invasion? I'm always open to new sources.
Well then im looking forward to a "imminent" Russian victory if it means a imminent end to the fighting. I guess it depends on your definition of imminent- i would have said Russia's initial forecast of taking Kyiv in 3-4 days as imminent but here we are 2 years later. Maybe a imminent Trump victory in the 2024 US elections in 12 months time will give Russia that belated victory?

The government of Ukraine is largely fascist and fascist elements are the best supplied in the Uke army - The 3rd Assault Brigade (formerly the Azov Battalion) - ethnic cleansers in the Donbas for the last decade and the most effective and popular Division in the military. Formerly the Azov was described as "Nazi" in Western media but no more. As Putin has expressed, "No more Nazis livin' next door please!"
Nobody knows the extent of Uke casualties (nor Russia's) but they've extended conscription to 50+ years old. The website Moon 0f Alabama which is Europe based compiles articles from authoritative circles plus international MSM. Many articles read between the lines and the outlook is not propitious for the Ukes who were prevented by their puppet masters from entering an earlier agreement with Russia (Minsk)which would have avoided the present situation which you rightly bemoan. Who then is to blame? (Tip - you won't find the answer in our media - it has already predictably taken sides and shamelessly promotes US propaganda).
"Imminent" does not mean tomorrow by any stretch but it's coming. Initially, the size of Russia's invasion force was never going to be enough to achieve the stated aim. Clearly, like the US and the Ukes, they miscalculated but that has all been fixed now. They've learned how to counter US military technology which now makes them even more formidable. They have almost limitless manpower, no shortage of ordinance and despite the sanctions, are about to overtake Germany as the most powerful industrial power in Europe - that is what the giant US miscalculation has led to. Already, Biden is down to Executive Order re weapon supplies, the Congress seemingly tired of throwing good money after bad. Also Russia did not use the US's and Israel's Shock and Awe strategy, its aim was to limit civilian deaths.
* MR. The Albanese Government is already foreshadowing an inquiry into the Iraq illegal invasion since the ALP did not support our involvement. Let's hope it goes somewhere though I'm sure our "security services" will be hell bent on scuttling it given that they were gung ho and WRONG! They forced Andrew Wilkie, the bloke who got it right, to resign after all. We trust these schmucks??
