      Maybe a change of words can remedy the situation ;

" All we are saying, is give Putin a chance"

      or

" Imagine theres no US, we dont believe their lies"

I'd suppose that you have them all on Spotify in the car for those occasional sentimental journeys to Bankie - We Are the World, Universal Soldier, Masters of War, All Ya Need is Love, The Eve of Destruction, The Walls Came Down? We're on the same team man but the present situation calls for more than navel gazing.

Great Pho restaurant at Bankie. Been there for yonks. Might see there at Ramadan?

you just need to delete the extra bracket and everything that is on the wrong side of what you want to quote - but carry on

Absolutely breathtaking toll - a Finals size football crowd and that moron Morrison repeating "October 7th...October 7th." It is the same fits of unbridled rage response that we all saw but didn't give a fig about following 9/11. Shame on our government. Frightened of breaking ranks with murderers. We've lost any moral authority that we might have had. Let's hear these hypocrites point fingers at China now.

Yes I forgot Zac thank you, we need to work around Paddo’s messing with the quote function so as to help him out.

Cant say i have spotify but im a U2 fan- Sunday bloody Sunday - a song rejects violence on both sides of the Irish conflict and above all else, a cry for peace. Born in the USA/ Springsteen, Orange Crush/REM, Fortunate Son/ Creedence Clearwater Revival......great anti-war songs that are very critical of the American government- id say you would be a fan too?

I try to bring the kids on sentimental journeys to Bankstown and Cabramatta but they dont like going past Edgecliff unless its to the airport.

That's it, that's the last straw MR, I have suffered enough. My grammar improvement offer now shifts to Rocky who is far more needy anyway.

Never a fan of that ponce Bono but liked Creedence and Springsteen.

Also spent years in Cabra in the pre Viet times. Italians, Poms, Serbs and Russian made up the community. John St was (and still is) a wonderful fresh food shopping strip. I did my teacher training at Cabra High and I married into a Serb family that lived next to Gough Whitlam in Junction St. It was worlds away from Paddo but refreshing - they had a swimming pool.

The father had been a Chetnik (Royalist army) during the war and he must have been thrilled to have a revolutionary socialist as a prospective son in law, especially one who tried to convince him that he'd been on the wrong side of history. The marriage didn't last, there were cultural and aspirational differences. Although she probably didn't know it in those heady naive times (the US seemed to be on the cusp of revolution which turned out to be a media mirage) my wife was a committed bourgeois but I was the main problem - youthful arrogance.

Oh no. Good luck with Rocky. He’s prone to exaggeration and excessive use of punctuation, hyperbole and the emoji.

He'll be a challenge that's for sure. There' an implacable unwillingness to face reality there. Just as there are alternative facts, Rock favours alternative punctuation.

                            • The Dunkley By Election An Australian farce.

What does a 4% swing mean? It means that 2% have switched their vote to the other side which was always gonna be possible at this time given the saturation "cost of living crisis" campaign by media. By and large however the Sheeple vote tribally and pretty much, thoughtlessly. If surveys tell us that 90% have no interest so at election time 2% is an easy get but based on what?

The Coalition’s economic policies on renewable energy, on wages, on public investment and generally on economic structure, clearly lead onto a path of slowly declining prosperity and widening division. They have no economic policy to meet the challenges and opportunities faced by our country. Laughably, however, in polling the Coalition has the edge on “Reducing cost of living pressures” even though it again has no policies that would reduce people’s expenses. Where do the Sheeple get these ideas? Would it not help their uninterested opinion forming to point that out?

We are well-aware, for example, of new boat arrivals and about the High Court releasing 170 asylum seekers and our awareness is mostly courtesy of our Right Wing media which doesn't tell people that Dutton, when minister, allowed more than 100 000 visa overstayers to remain in Australia. Would that decision making when voting?

In Dunkley, Gina Rinehart spent millions in her ongoing campaign to kill the switch to renewables. Noam Chomsky reckons we've got 150 years left then all gone but none of that penetrates.

It wouldn't really matter if people were told, that sort of info doesn't register, just look at the 10 top TV shows. This is our "Democracy"?

We need disclosure laws that give us a full account of whom but there again......the "people" decide and based on what?

Cost of living eh? Welcome to Capitalism where the market is not free as Rocky fantasies but is determined by duopolies and Corporate power. Governments in Capitalist countries can't do much at all about cost of living but the sheeple ain't thinkin' Socialism, they ain't thinkin anything much.
