Always check your homework before submitting Andy..maybe if you hadn’t wagged school so much in order to go watch Tina in Mad Max you’d have remembered this important life skill. Good thing I’m still around to guide you for now.

Shame about the broken link to the article as I was really looking forward to rocking up to my appointment with the professor (she used to be the president of the Australian Medical Association but I’m sure she’d love to continue her edumaction with your help too Andy) later in the week to show her the article posted on a Saturday afternoon by a helpful bloke on a rugby league forum in a thread called Lucky Dips…

      • The link works fine when I click on it Dont be so condescending I’ve done my homework You must have an outdated system Now in short it is a story of a Woman who when around your age had stage 4 ovarian cancer She is still alive and kicking ten years later

A positive mindset and a willingness to fight and survive for as long as possible But you seem not to have this and would rather give up In short you appear a lost cause with no fight and will to survive in you

Quite sad really but not surprising

        • Ease up Andrew. That’s a terrible thing to say especially when spouting the benefits of positive thinking.

You should change your name to Andrew Wanker

            Legend.
I don’t think he has much mouth left unfortunately

Sometimes being cruel to be kind can jolt a person

Ive always wished this person well and continue to do so in their battle

I'm not offended ACM but thank you..Andy and I go way back, long before this forum. He knows I have a really positive mindset which actually drives most on here up the wall I am sure...He's being helpful with the articles and don't think I didn't spend my time doing my googling either yesterday afternoon. I found a story about a woman who has lived with the condition for 16 years..that's the longest on record that I could find.

I don't need the jolting Andy as you know I'm not giving up on anything..I'm a Leo..and a Rooster..we don't lie down for penalties or anything else..you know I was always a straight A student so I'll take this on as just another project like I do at work...that's why they keep promoting me because I just plug away at stuff...Oh and I've been asked to give an introduction to our company's Head of Sponsorship when he gives a presentation soon for work..he was the one who arranged all our work with the NRL..so I'll be doing a presentation soon and can do this from home..so that is something to look forward to along with Millie Boyle coming to work next week..

it's a beautiful sunny Sunday and I'm sitting in the sun in my Roosters polo and shorts painting my toenails and watching my lovely George Michael on youtube..on links that work.....happy now? Thanks Andy for the pep talk..you should go into coaching as well as reffing...I just needed one day to cry, vent, eat chocolate, bacon and do my googling..that was yesterday...

                  • Thoughts are with you RWB. I mentioned in another thread ages ago that I honestly believe half the battle is mental.

Its a long and tough road but every road has an ending. Let’s hope yours journey takes you on the right road even though it’s a bumpy one and that at the end of that road is a happy place.

Thank you Renty and I didn't forget your message in the other thread either. I hope all is well for you too and especially Mrs Tracksuit. I do think of you all often and hope all is going well..

I'll tackle this like the straight A student I've always been and just get on with it. I'm always in my happy place anyway with my TV shows, Roosters, music and a bag of chips even if they are lentil or chickpea ones these days...try them..you'll love them..promise!

Now I'm off for a long walk around the east in my Roosters polo..can't believe it's winter..going to be 24 on Tuesday here and it's gorgeous here today.

Have a lovely week Renty and the same to everyone else..xx

With you mentioning a 'road' three times in that para RT, I couldn't help thinking of this great song. Its a farewell song, but as good as a farewell can be. Hope the words mean something. To those (and their families) who are fighting a battle right now.

Sorry Jack. Just saw this post now. The link isn't working (and no, I don't have an old operating system before you ask ).

Would you mind posting it again or at least let me know the artist and song? I'll look it up later as I've got all of today off for the afternoon appointment at the hospital. They never tell you how bloody tired you get. I know I'm sick when I don't have the strength to log into the work computer to laugh at our very new and British boss interview Millie and pretend he knows stuff about womens' NRL. They'll record it so I can watch it on demand just like TV.

This came up on youtube yesterday..didn't watch the whole concert but I'm sure you'll enjoy it:

Also just saw an ad for Ego: The Michael Gudinski Story showing in cinemas starting this week, with the likes of Bruce Springsteen & Dave Grohl in the trailer for the film.

                          • Hi RWB...are you sure you aren't using an old oper...oops!

I've copied the link below instead, may work better. Its Amanda Anne Platt just doing a solo version of The Road. I used that one instead of full band as its raw and can focus more on the brilliant lyrics.

Sorry you missed Millie, and good luck at the horsepiddle.

I'm the only old operating system in this household..oh and I'm still using my Nokia from 2015 which replaced the one from 2005...only 2 mobiles in 18 years..have you ever heard of such a thing?

Thanks very much Jack for the song and I'm playing it now in the background as have a bit of time before going on the buses..love a good acoustic ballad.

Poor Millie..being interviewed by Risk Management..even George Constanza doesn't know what it means...

I'm going to have the first operation on Friday at St Vincents (yes I will do ANYTHING to be heavily medicated every time we play Souths but this is going to extremes..) and we'll just take it from there. They just rang me now and the girl looking after me is called Bernie ..so I'll be in good hands..

Thanks again Renty and everyone else too..I'm thinking of all the comedies (I found George & Mildred online) and music documentaries I can catch up on..always a silver lining..

This song always puts me in a happy place and hope it does for others too:
