Thanks again Renty and everyone else too..I'm thinking of all the comedies (I found George & Mildred online) and music documentaries I can catch up on..always a silver lining..

This song always puts me in a happy place and hope it does for others too:

    • RWB, since you are not accepting PMs I have to post this on the public forum. I wish you all the best with your operation and health battles. Whatever you think of me I only ever wanted to be your friend in here. When you turned on me it was very upsetting and disappointing. I hope you take this message in the good faith it is intended.

Thanks very much Renty but the truth is some on here have been sending private messages to friends of mine with content saying otherwise. Imagine being on the receiving end of a gem like that.

Well I'm off to sleep soon as have to start my preparation for hospital as of tomorrow..so this really will be a genuine goodbye from me as it's time to go..

It was lovely knowing you Renty and appreciate your messages. Wishing you and Mrs Tracksuit all the best for the future too.

I shall leave you all with a song..for all us long suffering Roosters fans on here.

            • I commend yez to this piece by Melbourne writer Caitlin Johnstone that goes some way to explaining how stupid we can be. Reminded me of a few here.

              https://johnmenadue.com/only-idiots-...ia-from-china/

Not a complete explanation mind you. I was watching the ABC "News" that featured a vox pop on "The Voice". One fellow in his 50s with mullet, baseball cap, T-shirt, tatts and old jeans opined that while he liked the idea there was "too much I don't know" - the "No" message of course but wtf, the guy's got L for loser on his forehead, what possible interest of his might be threatened even if a very generous treaty eventually came to pass? So what if he knew everything there was to know? It would, in no way, impact on his little powerless existence. The meeja again plus a dab of latent racism. Some people value the aboriginal community for being at just about the lowest status rung in our class system - a place where they might dwell were it not for those long time occupants with a mortgage on the spot.

I wondered if he saw the US as our saviour.

An sobering take below from the attached clip on California considering its the state that probably most reflects life here in Australia regarding climate, space, time in settlement and what the host of highlighting, it’s middle class.

“It’s got the highest number of homeless people in the United States. Half of all America’s homeless, live in California. One third of all welfare recipients live in California. One fifth of all Californians live below the poverty line. California has the highest taxes in the country (on aggregate).”

I did read 24.7% of Chinese and 60% of North Koreans live in poverty - so much for your workers paradise

Russia and US are around the same at 11% or so

mmm Jim Jones comes to mind - a rabid Marxist/Socialist/Communist with strong links to the Soviet Union at the time who promised to lift a whole bunch of folk out of poverty - took everything from them and took them to Guyana and we all now what happened then.

You've got to be totally brainwashed to follow such an ideology and any of its so-called leaders: Lenin, Stalin, Mao, Castro, and Minh. Kim's

100s of millions suffered and 10s of millions died under those despots authoritarian and totalitarian regimes.

These claimed numbers happened in their own backyards unlike the US affliction for fighting round the world

Wow so that justified it - it was their own - mmm not really the case in the Soviet Union though - they were not all Russian and had no choice of being in the Soviet Union either

Be prepared for the revolution when no one can afford anything because of capitalistic greed.

Mmm, the leaders, including top party officials and hanger-ons, in Communist countries were never poor, nor did they ever go without, and they still don't in China and North Korea.

It's only the brainwashed ordinary Comrades that suffered/suffer under such regimes.

Look at Comrade Paddo, a Marxist who is anti-West and capitalism.

He's certainly not the sharpest tool in the shed by any stretch, but even he's not that silly to relocate to such countries and live under authoritarian or totalitarian regimes.

Be careful for what you wish for.
