The Sydney Park hotel, near St Peters station and the brick chimneys which is my local even though there are a couple of pubs closer have some of the Yullis range on tap.

Lol, you must have got the park on a good day with well behaved dogs because it doesn't happen often, well not when i'm there anyway, i always know when one of my neighbours is there walking their dog because you hear the woman call out Charlie don't do this, Charlie don't do that and i can be on on the other side of the park and hear that. It is a great park though to just escape from the world and sit and reflect though too.
I went past the Sydney Park Hotel and wondered if that was your local.

Yes must have got lucky as the park was awash with beautifully behaved canines.

The Sydney Park Hotel is a good meeting spot for friends as it is right on the train line and bus stops straight outside, i can walk there in 15 minutes from home or its only 3 stops on the bus. New people have taken it over and so some my old regular favourite bar staff have gone, but still is great little venue.

I love walking around and sitting by the ponds in the park and they have some nice water features there now, there is one spot where they have stepping stones across one side to the other, i love doing that as it makes me feel like a big kid again. Some of the dogs owners let their dogs swim in that section despite signs up saying not to let the dogs enter the water and also there are some times sign with blue green algae alerts when there hasn't been much rain which i would imagine would irritate the dogs skin if they come in contact with it.

Lol, all this talk about well behaved dogs. Mine is a smart, sensitive and gentle dog. He loves people and laps up the attention. But sadly he has small dog syndrome and whenever we bump into other dogs on our walks he 99% of the time is the who starts the barking. He’s an absolute pain and embarrassing. I signed him up for dog socialisation training as a pup and even then he was the smallest dog in the class with the yappyest bark. I eventually quit from embarrassment as it seemed like a waste of time. I realise he thinks he’s just protecting me but he’s so anti-social. I love him to the moon and back though!

Yes you’re right, Salvo did deserve that particular banning. I have no idea what happened in here last night but Salvo served his time. While I can’t comment as to what happened last night I’m sure Andy will be back soon enough. Andy has looked out for me on here plenty of times in the past so I’m very grateful for that and think he’s a great guy who sometimes takes things a little too far. I’m sure when he’s back he’ll have something to say to me about that comment lol.

Careful Jack did say he's been to the brewery.

The neighbour had a beautiful dog called Jasper who we used to see in the front yard and he would look after the ducks when they let them out in their front yard, unfortunately Jasper passed on but it was old age that got him. The dog they got called Charlie after that was skittish and bark at it own shadow, quite a few of the neighbours complained about the continual barking and the owners said they knew they had a problem with the dog and have done things to minimise the noise and the dog is a bit more settled now as it got older but its definitely not the placid dog that was Jasper. The language that i heard from one of its owner when the dog did something wrong about a year ago even shocked me though.

There’s a small number of users in this forum who derail a topic any time King Salvo makes a comment and the topic invariably descends in to rubbish and the bickering begins. These people need to place each on ignore and move on the constant attacks towards King Salvo becomes tiring to read. I placed one of the worst offenders on my own ignore list many months ago and it improved my experience on this website but I don’t wish to have too many people on there.

I have a great Dog to . Marley the collie. She is so gentle that at 2 1/2 she still has the stuffed toys from when she was a pup and none were destroyed. Very timid and scared of infants , hoses , water , bikes , but absolutely loves people. Have heard her bark maybe a dozen times since we had her . Best dog I have ever had and a great companion

We have neighbours who do shift work and have 3 dogs. The dogs do not like being left outside when the owners are away and they just bark and bark, and it's especially bad when the owners have a late night shift. We had to complain once as it was really bad and our eldest was in the middle of Year 12 exams at the time so needed to get a good night's sleep. Our dog is an indoor dog so only really barks if we have a visitor - he's a brilliant guard dog and tells me someone is coming before they even knock - or if he's outside exploring during the warmer months where he barks at the birds and possums and of course other dogs he hears barking around the neighbourhood. One starts barking and they all have to join in. I don't know how people can have a dog and abuse it. When mine does the wrong thing, like throws up on the carpet or poops inside (usually there are extenuating circumstances) I tell him off by using the deep voiced telling off tone - did YOU do that? Half the time I have to stop myself from breaking into laughter when I do it because the telling off tone usually means the ears go down, the eyes turn away and he rolls onto his back into the I'm guilty position. It's very hard to be cranky with him.

Yep that's always an option. I've never used it myself. I get to know the various personalities on here very well by reading many posts over a period of time. It helps me to know each poster well and which posts to read because it's likely to be interesting and worthwhile, or which to skim over because it's likely to be another rant or negative / repetitive post.

She sounds beautiful 08. Mine being a mini fox terrier was always going to have a bark. But mostly he's just doing his 'guard' and 'protective' work lol. Making sure other dogs keep away from me on our walkies and letting us know when there's a visitor coming. I learnt quickly that soft toys get destroyed. He liked to rip them apart to get to the squeaky part inside. So I stopped giving him soft toys and bought balls to play catch and tug with instead. Monty's biggest fears are like your Marley's hoses, bikes, buses and especially storms. He is beside himself in storms, wanting me to comfort him one second but then wanting to jump out of my arms a second later running around panting and crying. The poor thing. But he follows me around everywhere and has my routine memorised and seems to know exactly what I'm going to do next.

They are so smart and obviously have us wrapped around their fingers. Marley is no gaur dog I'm afraid. I think she would give up all our possessions for a pat from a stranger.
