Poms too good in the end they have batted, bowled and caught better since the 3rd test and we've probably been a bit lucky to retain the ashes in the end. Rather fitting Broad got the last wicket, he's been a fantastic quickie.
Great series it's been one of the best I've seen.

Well we ended up closer to winning the final test than I thought possible at the start of the second innings. I wonder what might have been had the umpires not given the poms a far better looking ball than the one that was replaced. Overall it was one of the best Ashes series I have seen and a draw was a fair result. But we retained the Ashes and in the end that’s all that matters!

I actually think the rain the day before cruelled us We we’re on top and on a roll and then we had to start again leaving us a lot more runs to get on that final day What goes around comes around as the rain totally cruelled the poms chances in the previous test

Yep true. The rain also brought cloudy, humid conditions which were perfect for swing / seam bowling. Even on the final day Smith and Head got a great partnership going and another two hour rain delay broke their momentum and lead to another batting collapse.

2-2 a fair result. both teams played great. we'll be disappointed we couldn't finish it off after going 2-0 up but the english did well to fight back. good luck to broad - i always thought him a likeable villain with a cheeky grin

The Australian Women's and Men's team both travelled to England Holding their respective Ashes and Both return to Australia retaining their respective Ashes in their drawn series.

The minimum was to retain their respective Ashes which was achieved.

Both Australia's Women's and Men's Teams could have played better one has to say.

oh well, holding onto the ashes is better than not.

gee the icc test championship points system is a joke. we've seen a great, competitive series with both teams playing some great cricket and they were deducted points for, wait for it, slow over rates. fmd

I was at the SCG on the hill watching Aus v Windies when the whole ground burst into laughter. I turned around and up the back was a bed sheet sized banner that read "Michael's Holding Viv's Richard".

So they are now going to investigate what happened with the change in ball. It will be interesting what comes if it if anything.
