  • What album are you listening to right now?

    Eric Clapton - Journeyman

Sure, there are technically better and flashier guitar players around. Few of them have his feel, and song writing ability.

That’s a hard question. In my spare time, which isn’t much lately, I’ve been trying to go through my CD collection to retire some albums I haven’t listened to for a while. The aim being to try and streamline my library and get rid of clutter. So I haven’t been listening to any one in particular just a different one every night I get a chance. It’s good to put an album on when watching the cricket or a non Roosters NRL game. I can mute the annoying commentary that way. I’ve also been gradually buying my Top 10 albums in vinyl. The last ones I played on the turntable were OK Computer by Radiohead and Rumours by Fleetwood Mac.

Perhaps another thread about how bad our team is instead?

My Life Is A Symphony by Kate Ceberano with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. Bought it the other day along with Olivia Newton John's Just The Two of Us duet's album. Kate's album is just beautiful.

Saturday nights at home we try and pick five albums that we haven't heard and or played for ages and put them on shuffle in the CD player , get some great mixes sometimes.

Other albums i often play at home are Alone In The Universe by Jeff Lynne's ELO and Voyage by ABBA.

eddie as your birthday is coming up, in honour, I will listen to this band all day, particularly this album, containing our unofficial national anthem. I took Steve Prestwich's drumsticks down to the local framers to have them boxed with a commemorative plaque as they are starting to age and his autograph is fading. Jimmy Barnes was at Suncorp yesterday to cheer on the Matildas too and he was very excited and posting videos of the crowd with Saturday Night playing in the background of his clip.

Enjoy my favourite Chisel album, Circus Animals.

Hoping everyone else is also well and having a good weekend with lots of victories for our sporting teams. Good guys winning all round for a change..

After last years signed Roosters jersey An album being listened to in your honour must be a slight let down. It is though understandable under the circumstances and I am sure had Bernie not had more pressing personal matters ( we all hope things are going well with that ) you’d have at least got a Roosters coffee mug

PS last night this album was playing in the Walker household

Shhh..you'll spoil any surprise I may have in store for Eddie...

Thank you though Andy..back to the junction I went on Saturday for more exploratory ultrasounds..not sure what was more painful..the tests or the account payable... But no whinging as we are blessed to have good health care here and kind and caring professionals who dedicate their lives to helping. I'd love to take a leaf out of Rod Stewart's book and pay for a bunch of tests to help others..this story made me cry buckets:

                              https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-essex-64759060

I'm already signed up to be an organ donor (they'll have to peel back the layers of my Roosters gear to find something worth salvaging....). So in honour of Rod doing good deeds for others, have a listen to this album with the beautiful Jeff Beck. This is the Flash album featuring People Get Ready:
