Hope you had a good birthday

Good morning Eddie and thank you. Wising the same for you too for the 31st August.

Yes, it was a great day with family and fantastic weather until the rain in the evening but by then I was back at the resort watching the Manly game. Had grilled calamari and salad for lunch at the club and fresh cherry gelato in the evening. Had to laugh as everywhere I went, there were Roosters here, Roosters there, Roosters bloody everywhere..even at work in our tipping comp, many of the user names like mine are related to the Roosters. So for those saying we have no fans, that comment makes no sense..(great Cold Chisel song that too!) Then again, you do have to undertake strict background and criminal history checks to work with us, hence the lack of Souths fans…

We are one of Australia’s biggest employers and have 1,050 people in this particular comp, including Craig Wing as our guest celebrity tipper. i came 6th overall company wide for the round just gone..just blind guessing it was..no special formula unless you count “hate them, not tipping them..meh, they are ok..I’ll tip them etc”..

Here is a great album that will always remind me of my holiday just gone as I watched the Wham documentary and this particular song is all about holidays, Club Tropicana..

Enjoy the rest of your week everyone..one more sleep until the Matildas and 3 more until Roosters...

Bloody brilliant REM album, Monster. I just opened up the T-shirt I bought for myself online from Canada for my birthday with the cover art on it. Laughing because I got my makeup delivery from David Jones too with free eyeliner which I don't wear..there is a song on here called Crush With Eyeliner...

Opening riffs of What's The Frequency Kenneth give me the chills..

Nathan Rateliff and the Night Sweats - the future

Pretty funky. Might not be everyone's cup of tea though. I saw them at Blues Fest back in April. Best live show I've seen.

Mugs are like forum members - some are hard to handle and may even turn up smashed … so yesterday I sent Eddie something softer and easier to deal with.

I just had my next appointment (so grateful can do it via Zoom sitting here my 2013 minor premiers T-shirt) to confirm the sources and nature of the weird pains I’ve had to put up with (and I’m not even talking about the ones who post on here ) so time to deal with it now and just get on with it all. Going into St Vincents in the coming weeks to start with the first procedure. Thanks again to those who posted good wishes, particularly those who haven’t met in me in person (like Renty, Big Dog and JB to name a few) but still went out of your way to add something genuine and positive in my other thread. Wishing you and your loved ones all the best that life has to offer too and a lot more joy watching our Roosters and listening to great music posted here in these threads.

All the best for the upcoming off season..hope it doesn’t start for a few more weeks yet…you never know what fate has in store for us all..

I know a few of us on here love and appreciate a good bit of REM, so here is another of their albums from my collection, the legendary Automatic For The People, starting with a very special and meaningful song, Sweetness Follows..may sweetness follow the good & decent folk on this forum wherever you may go and our paths may cross again one day, if not in this lifetime, then maybe the next…xx

Bernie..............you don't have to send me something, I'll feel guilty.
I still see the signed jersey everyday.

No please don't feel guilty Eddie....think of it this way..you have room to display stuff I've had hidden in boxes...that way you can enjoy them and I know they are going to a good home..I still see the signed jersey every day too as I framed the photo you sent me and it's in my home office aka the dining room...

I had some Fitzy signed stuff too but I'm not allowed to climb up to get storage boxes anymore so will seek help to get those down from the top shelf. I forgot to put my name on the parcel so when you get something this week, it's from me..damn brain fog is annoying..I left broccoli and zucchini in the microwave last night as I had forgotten I'd steamed them..

Steve's drumsticks got delivered today from the framers and they look brilliant..I've sent Horrie a picture already..If I can figure out how to post photos on here I will..I have a good home down here in Sydney they will go to eventually when the time comes...I know they will be well looked after by someone I trust.

Another Cold Chisel album...includes Saturday Night...Twentieth Century..had this on cassette:

“Who can you trust?” by Morcheeba. Great trip hop album if anyone else here likes that sort of thing.

Also have been listening to “Excitable Boy” by Warren Zevon recently too.

We were just going through some old vinyls of my in laws and found a K-Tel ‘classic’ best of the 50s compilation. I recognised only one song on it!
