  • The Great Taramansour

A horse who I own and identified in Ireland to race in Australia, and after people pissing in the horses and my own pocket when it won three straight 3 of its first 5 in Australia after coming out from Ireland, then being ridiculed by one on here in the off season poetry thread. Anyway today after a run of outs then a change of stable he won again 1st run for the new stable at odds $39.70 for the win A truly magnificent horse Beneath is the limerick #234 bagging the horse in The off season poetry thread and my limerick in response highlighted #243 and yes I will also confirm Ive had a bet on him today at the big odds I will also attach a replay of the great win

    https://www.racing.com/form/2023-08-...illside/race/6

There once was a horse from Ireland

Who galloped so fast like on fire

    But then it came unstuck

And ran out of luck and now sits in in the paddock and mire

There was an Irish horse named Taramansour
winner of 4 races and should win more
    the owner doesnt fret
as he had a large bet
the first time he did score

Oh so you can say what you want to others like you did Voods the other day You can bag peoples horses after previously pissing in their pockets and not expect it to come back when it regathers its form like it was always going to. I understand You are the Latrell Mitchell of this site and consider yourself a protected species

PS Those 4 small bottles of Moët went down well this afternoon

Thanks a nice fill up Jaxx. A sweet victory for quite a few reasons today. Let see how he goes next run and how he trains on this prep, whilst he is no Winx or Black Caviar he is a talented horse when in form. Maybe we’ve got him back to somewhere near the form that saw him run 3rd in a Group 3 Bendigo Cup beaten a neck in its first preparation in Australia

Jack, it would be rude of us also not to congratulate the 22 odd other owners as well. Syndicates I believe they are called. Simon (the late other half) and his brother used their law degrees combined with their passion for horses up on the Gold Coast to help their Dad for many years. Even did some work for the Magic Millions. as everyone needs good lawyers..Then they came into my shop once (they met Andy in there as well that day ironically) looking for ties to wear to Randwick as they’d been based in Sydney by then for a few years. That’s why his ashes are scattered around not only Kirra but up around the track as well. Close to where my family’s Gold Coast Crematorium is too, so that brings me comfort.

I remember telling you how Max Presnell and his wife adopted me as one of their ‘children’ and I’d go around for dinner as they are based in Waverley. He’d always want me to order him a red and green tie as he was the Rabbitohs number one ticket holder at that time and i said no as that is a fashion ‘don’t..

Through having grown up with it in my family as well with their horse racing interests in Toowoomba, it’s always an exciting time when it all goes well. My brother in law always looks out for Andy’s horse as he had told me to always remember Josh Mansour if I forgot the name..easy to remember as that’s a Lebanese surname..Congratulations again to Tara’s many owners…..the news really has made my next couple of days much brighter..I’m up again with pain tonight but still can find a song for Andy and the other owners..

                          time for some 70’s hip wriggling…Everyone’s A Winner…

Syndicates can have a maximum of 20 owners There are 19 in Taramansour in this group. FTR I own 5 percent ( gets a little too expensive to own much more ) As a general rule I only race one at a time but would buy another if I was sure it was the right horse.
I’ve spoken yesterday to two other owners I know congratulating them. I also rang the trainer thanking him for getting the horse back to winning form It was the first time I’d spoken to him (Interesting character a real bushie.)
When he changed stables I made myself a promise. I was going to take a back seat and let them do their job no matter whether I agreed or disagreed with decisions made. I was confident being in a stable whose winning strike rate over the last 7-8 years was close to a winner every 5 runners would get it right a lot more than not. You don’t get that type of record if you place them badly. Anyway horse has pulled up well this morning and has eaten up overnight.

Watched the vid, I would have been tearing the ticket approaching the corner. Worst possible spot, great win. Had a touch of class on those. You've got a handy trainer.

With those syndicates though, you can have more "owners" within the individual group or name that goes in the book. Looking at your ownership list that might be the case? Especially in those expensive neddys. e.g. you could have 5% but could have 10 extra people in your group.
