Adelaide Cup today and good luck to Connie's horse who is the fave. He hasn't been active on here for a few days, might have made the trek to the city of Churches.

Exciting times for him. The horse has been very consistent and unlucky not to have 2 or 3 more wins in the bank. Last start wins in one more hop.

Tried its guts out for a respectable 5th.....cant ask for more. I wish i had a share in him!

Nice ride from the young girl on the winner- not easy to lead and win over 3200m

                Thanks for the well wishes.

I don’t think he ran the two miles out. In saying that though, I was very disappointed in the ride and the tactics, where from a good gate he was ridden cold. Not only did he get too far back in a slowly run race but was following a 60-1 chance in the run who was never going to give him a cart into the race. This meant he once again had to do all the work and circle the field I never understand why horses whom are considered a risk at the distance are ridden so conservatively that they give big head starts How will they make ground up late if they can’t run the trip From a good barrier you are better of being near the speed snd in striking distance on the turn Not 6 wide no cover on the honevturn 6 lengths off the leaders

I’d say the ride and shitty tactics were the difference between finishing 5th and 3rd. As owners we race for prize money and finishing 4th or 3rd is worth more than 5th. The only consolation was I didn’t waste my time and money travelling to Adelaide to witness that shit show where IMHO the horse was not ridden in a manner to finish in the best finishing position he could have.

As exciting as it all was. These days I’d rather spend my time meditating, being at the gym, a beach, a cafe, or with Family. Which is exactly what Ive done the past few days, yesterday finishing the day off with a few post race beers at the pub.

As for Taramansour I’m yet to hear how he is but no news is generally good news. The story isn’t over yet. There are plenty of suitable races for a horse like him whom as Randy has pointed out on more than one occasion tries his guts out If he’s ok snd after a quiet week for him where he does nothing I know where id like to head with him

I thought initially he didn't quite run the strong two miles, too. Watched the beaten jocks interviewed post race and Lachy said he never settled in the run with the steady bat and that cost him. Where would you like to head with him?

Warrnambool Cup was on my radar But alas after 7 runs this time in and the last 4 all in heat above 35 degrees sees Taramansour in the paddock having well earned spell

Good call. I've got an old mate I see at the races who always carries on about how soft racing is to have heat rules/restrictions. "They're only out there for a few minutes". I subtly remind him (even if you don't care about the horses/jockeys, with you should)...that as an owner a horses whole prep can be buggered up by running on a very hot day.
