In fairness Izzy’s rave was in response to Jack’s rave about Albo, in response to Paddo, in response to Jack, in response to Izzy etc etc. I agree with Random, they all make promises they can’t keep, they all lie, they all do good things countered by absolute shockers. They only care about themselves. It’s not black and white, good verses evil, or Souffs v Easts.
The current cost of living crisis with inflation and high interest rates was not started by Albo. It’s a result of wars, global economic sanctions, and a world wide pandemic. If anything the situation in Australia was started by ScoMo throwing out money to counter the Covid crisis, but that was no different to all the leaders in power at that time. It is actually a world wide problem which won’t be fixed overnight sadly for us, average people just trying to get by.
I'm surprised you thought my post was a 'rave'. I pointed out Albanese should never have put this Voice to a referendum and has divided the country unnecessarily. Around 60-70% of Aussies agree with those comments. You could say Ism22's response was a rave moreso. Or maybe even yours...

I honestly don’t think it’s fair to put all the ‘divisive blame’ on Albo when Dutton was telling people to vote no if you don’t understand it. Imo if you don’t understand something, you should be encouraged to read up until you do, not just vote no. It’s treating people like they’re stupid. Or vote informal or ‘I don’t know’. I think the difference is you had a clear point of view from the start as did ism and AW and Paddo, whereas I didn’t. I wouldn’t call what I said a rave though lol. Also, Albanese made it clear before the election this would be happening I thought.

Thats ok...and I wouldn't call my comments a rave either. I've tried to be as nuanced and insightful (not inciteful ) in this thread as I can.

You are always raving on about some right wing rubbish
When you trust your television
what you get is what you got
Cause when they own the information
they can bend it all they want
Look Jack’s politics are too far right wing for me. Paddo’s are too far left. I don’t align with any party and said as much when I said it’s not as simple as good v evil or black v white. I look at each issue on its own. I can be quite progressive about some things and conservative on others.
Oh and on this issue I ended up voting yes, so now all you no voters can tell me to suck it up.

Hey MR, I know you aren't necessarily saying I'm far right wing...but, just to clarify I consider my politics conservative or centre-right. There are others on here who you could say tend more to the far right. The other bloke you mentioned is full on hard left though, aligned with the most extreme of our Greens activists.

P.S nice pic, you're looking well.
Yeah obviously I was just saying too far on the right for my view of the world. Lefts, rights, centres, it’s all very confusing, especially when you can have those categories on both the left and right side. I am more moderate and on social issues am definitely more progressive. I would rather see us do things to make things better rather than sit back and say no that can’t or shouldn’t be done. In the end when it comes down to it though I think political parties will say or do anything just to win an election. All they care about is power.
I won’t comment on anything else as I wouldn’t want to give the impression that I’m cozying up.

IMO old mate's more of a doomer than anything as he supports a lot of far-right regimes on a global scale (wrongly mistaking them for far-left paradises because dictatorships inevitably use names along the lines of 'the people's democratic, socialist... blah blah blah).
That said you're right... that's sorta where the Greens are at right now. They've pretty much decided that:
- The planet is irrnversably broken and the next generation will die out as everything's beyond hope.
- 'The west' caused all of this. You can't trust any western governments because they all lie to us.
- Okay time to freestyle now. We're doomed and western democracies are all heavily broken/corrupt. Once you hold these simple beliefs, they can be jack-knifed to 'prove' anything that you like...
