I figure some sorta AI (probably deployed by Rob C as a political weapon - in concert with his mates from the Singaporean government who own Optus) swooped upon this forum to spread intentional misinformation about us all being 'lied' to.
It then came face to face with my rant and was like 'WTF... does not compute!!! This epic, limoncello-fuelled rant is beyond my AI's comprehension!!!'
The result of this glitch was a catastrophic chain reaction that caused ending not dissimilar to the classic game 'Beneath a Steel Sky'. Complete with the quotes 'I am the future' and 'Which IS the monster, father? The COMPUTER... or YOU?'

It’s exactly that labelling and woke mentality as to why many voted NO. YES voters with such views are a big reason many voted NO.FVCK CANCER

This is our house and only Pemriff fans are allowed to discuss this game while drinking a beer!!!'
In short... if this were the Commonwealth Club or the Tattersalls then my man would approach you, politely place his white glove on your table, quietly extinguish your Dannemann by using your glass of vintage cognac as an ashtray and then point to the door saying while making a nuanced throat clearing noise. There would be a mutual understanding between gentlemen that you had overstepped the line
'Right side of history'? I know old mate uses that line a lot in relation to Chinese/Russian geopolitics (with the assumption they have somehow 'won' and Australia's on the wrong side of history in partnering with the USA). All I can say to this remark is that IMO you are naive if you think that this is the end of the road for constitutional recognition for indigenous Australians and broader reforms in relation to reconciliation (which will no doubt involve an element of contested public discourse - welcome to democracy).
Now if you will sir... [makes a nuanced throat clearing noise while pointing towards the door]
Maybe next time you could play the racist card and see where that gets ya!

The arrant lies and distortions that went on in the MSM appealed to the racist in all of us over a certain age. The White Australia policy was hugely popular and many were bewildered when it ended especially on the Right and among the least educated - come to think of it that is the same group actually.
How can you muddy the waters with 3 sentences - the right of the indigenous to be heard by the parliament and the right of parliament to reject such input? No, this was News' opportunity to put Dutton back on the radar and it targeted the regions and outer suburbs which the Libs see as dumb and easily malleable. Having lost the"old" Libs to the Teals they've pinned their hopes on the fascist lemmings in suburbia who have been News' bread and butter since Jesus was a boy. From now on the cacophony will build - tourist Albo, cost of living. Have they blamed the Telstra outrage on China yet? That'll come.

Souffs are on the 'right side of history' in regards to that premiership and it will likely never be removed from their trophy cabinet. However as we all know... it says a lot more about them as a club
One could say the same thing about a party that initially supported constitutional recognition of indigenous Australians and then ~3 months out from the referendum started campaigning against it because they saw a cheap opportunity to spoil what some might see as a 'win' for the government of the day.
As I said... indigenous Australians will eventually receive some form of constitutional recognition. However, it won't be in 2023. That doesn't mean that voting down recognition in 2023 was inherently the best decision.
Like with John Howard banning gay marriage - where did that put him when it comes to the 'right side of history'. Conservatives always delay social progression by protesting that it's immoral and will lead to all sorts of horrible things. That's politics for you! Such things ALWAYS reach a tipping point where the conservatives get told 'okay grandpa'. That day is simply not today.
Oh yeah and WTF is this 'right side of history' rhetoric anyway? I thought it was just bullshyte language that random dictators like Chairman Xi used when sayibf things like 'China will always be on the right side of history'. Thanks, Comrade. Appreciate your input... dunno what do do with it thoughLast edited by ism22; 11-09-2023, 06:48 AM.
