Izzy was excited and in spite of 2 bedtime limoncellos he could not sleep. He briefly thought of a third but decided against as he had to drive up to Sydney for the weekend and was staying in his Paddington Pad. He was off to Shark Park, but what really excited him was the volunteer work he was undertaking on Saturday and Sunday morning. Izzy with other like minded people was walking the streets of Paddington and it’s surrounds handing out pamphlets to garner support for the Yes vote for the upcoming voice referendum, and was looking forward to hitting the streets where he thought he could make a difference. He double checked his bag to make sure all was packed, fortunately for him he did so as much to his shock he had discovered he had not packed his black facemask with YES written in red and yellow on it. He was now ready for bed.
Meanwhile In Sydney PC was also struggling to sleep. He too had a busy day as he was also planning to hit the streets handing out yes pamphlets. He though was filled with trepidation and was worried whom he would be coupled with for the weekend. He’d heard stories that prominent Yes voters in his local area such as Malcolm and Lucy Turnbull along with Dave Sharma and Allegra Spender were also hitting the streets doing the same. The thought of being coupled with one of those people filled him with dread and made him head to the fridge and crack open another can of KB. Paddo was hoping to be coupled with someone younger and someone who would share the same ideology as himself., someone he could influence and mould into a good socialist, not the likes of Turnbull, Sharma, or Spender. At times knowing they were supporting the same cause made him question himself if he was really on the right side. Deep down in his heart of hearts he knew his political heroes Mao, Putin and Xi Jinping would oppose this voice. He found himself deeply troubled and unable to sleep, he peered out his window and down the deserted Begg Lane. He had no idea of what tomorrow would bring.
