    Huge pinnie fan.

    Favs over the years were-
    Batman (1991)
    Theatre of Magic
    Fish Tales
    Adams Family
    Twilight Zone
    Jurassic Park
    Guns n Roses
    Lord of the Rings

GnR and Adams Family equal #1 imo.

I was in a few pinball comps in the States but they used much later machines that are wayyyyy too digitalised for my liking.

Twilight Zone's a classic! I remember playing it at the Arch back in the day after loading up on No Name's pasta. Sadly No Name's is no longer with us. I used to dream of being one of the old Italian gentlemen who was allowed to access the back room...

I find the machines at The Basement hit and miss.
I don’t think they are serviced too well leading sometimes to soggy play, loose flippers and unbalanced bumpers.

They did have a decent comp there but not sure if it’s still a thing?

Capital Pinball is talking up a pinball bash comp with food, drinks and unlimited play with results counting towards local and international rankings. I’m going to call today to find out more as their website doesn’t mention dates or costs.

Loved terminator 2 back in the day, my mate has built a fully digital pinball machine, with 3 screens, flippers, pullback to launch the ball, and also has tilt warning. He made a carcass and has every pinni that was made on his cpu, really cool, it’s not the real deal, but pretty bloody close.

I remember and Im 61 going to the locaal takeaway getting our scallops and in the back room they had about 5 pinball machines. We would pick up the front about 3 inches of the ground and drop it and get free games . Ah good days . The italian lady would go ballistic if we were sprung.

You know, I forgot listing T2 in there when I did that quick list as well as missing Creature From the Black Lagoon.

How good was the cannon shot piece on T2! It was actually the first pinnie to feature an auto launcher instead of the traditional plunger.

Most old school fish and chip shops had a pinnie or two. Was great waiting for the fried food and playing a few games.

Some notable locations were the fish and chip shop on Bay st Toowoon Bay on the central coast and the one on the northern end of the strip at Tathra. As you can see, I had a bloody awesome childhood and I’m still a kid today!

That's a pretty sweet idea as pinnies generally sell for upwards of $15k and from what I understand can be a royal pain to calibrate (given they have lotsa finely tuned mechanical stuff). Would love to see one of those computerised ones in action some time...
