Since it relates to Roosters territory, I though I'd post about my experience running the annual Slurry to Surf. Having worked 1/2 a day (stuff needed doing and everybody else was gaawn), driven the family to Sydney and knocked back a pint & burger (called a 'Royale with Cheese - figured I had to try it given the reference) I headed for a light jog out wearing a Roosters training shirt.
It was a lovely night with a big harvest moon. Highlights included Centennial Park being foggy in patches (dunno how) and there being an awesome sea breeze around Bronte.
Near the end I cruised through Bondi Junction and received a lot of smiles/encouragement from the locals.
Overall a 10/10 course that I'd definitely do again. Only downer (maybe upshot for some) is that I passively toked a bunch of weed as everybody seemed to be blazing up around the beaches and Surry Hills. I dare say I mighta passed old mate Paddo Cult at some point as he loves the mull. Oh well! Whether it be the runner's high or something else, I finished the Slurry to Surf comfortably and am now off to grab a hipster brekky with the fam.
Hope everybody has a solid long weekend.
