  • Albos Claytons Covid Inquiry

This one slipped through to the keeper with the Voice debate and Dictator Dans overdue demise.

But its a shocker. The announced inquiry (not a proper Royal Commission as many have called for) wont include a review of States/Territories or require their Govts and bureaucracies to be accountable for their actions and decisions during the Covid panic.

Its a protection racket for the mostly Labor states and an opportunity to blame the Coalition government at the federal level.

The Australian people deserve a proper no holds barred inquiry. Its the least we all deserve. Pressure needs to mount on this one, and more power to those who will fight for a Royal Commission.

From what I’ve heard he has 2 of the people leading the inquiry were either giving out advice or implementing the advice given. It’s an absolute disgrace but not surprising

Yeah, the third one (at least) is an immunologist who expressed the view previously rhat lockdowns should apply to the immuno-compromised only, and not to the whole population. Will she hold that line though?

For such an unprecedented issue that affected everyones lives a Royal Commission should have been a no-brainer. It has the power to call witnesses and request evidence as seen fit. They pulled the Robodebt RC together quite quickly....hmmm. But apparently Albo says it would be too costly and take too long for a RC for Covid. Nothing to do with a Brissy State Election looming for Pallashay next year and what a proper inquiry would do to her reputation.

The fact that this is looking at the Commonwealth's response rather than the States own decisions....like lockdowns, school closures, vaccine mandates and state border controls...means those issues won't properly be interrogated and reviewed.

        FFS.

Damned if they do and Damned if they don't regarding the health and wellbeing of the general populous during COVID.

The majority of the populous supported the vaccinations and lock downs one has to say

As Abe Lincoln said “You cannot escape the responsibility of tomorrow by evading it today.”

I repeat ...a proper no-holds barred RC. The enforcements of the Covid era and the damage done are unravelling piece by piece.

Yes and this was all the Tories' policies anyway as ScoMo was PM?

Zzzz it's like how Dutton had a big speech blaming Albo for that lady who got bashed by an asylum seeker who was released. Turns out he was released into the community by none other than Peter Dutton. No 'whoops... I cocked up that attack and look like a goose now'. Instead he's just doubled down and been like 'I don't give a shyte, gonna stick to my conclusion'.

LOL@Tories being butt-hurt. Yesssss... a retired Victorian premier is to blame for all the shyte you are rambling about, not ScoMo, Dutton and Gladys. Please. Grow up and just sit out your years in opposition like a man.

Jack- you do realise that NSW, South Australia and Tasmania had Liberal governments throughout the pandemic?

Why would it be a protection racket for the Labor states? Also who is blaming the Coalition at Federal government and for what?

What actions of the Labor state governments do you want the Royal Commission to look into? How Mark McGowans government delivered a $5.6 billion surplus in 2020-21 and subsequent years whilst the other states hemorrhaged billions? Or why WA covid deaths are by far the lowest in Australia? Or maybe how the citizens of WA were that restricted and unhappy with Labors performance during the pandemic that in the 2021 election Labor won 53 of 59 seats, while the Liberals won 2? Or perhaps we just keep up the Sky News Australia Dan Andrews and Ana P witch hunt?

Since the end of the pandemic The Libs lost SA and NSW - but it wasn't because of their performance during the pandemic. Its just a cycle-it gets to the point where the voters want to give the other mob a go. Then they realise after a couple of terms that they are just as shit as the previous mob and we change again! I guarantee 100% that the Liberals will win the QLD election in October this year and hold onto power for 2 terms. That's just the way it rolls
