I'd thought about starting threads on it for ages but know how emotive people get on the topic. The Climate thing has pretty much become a religion now. It is entrenched across a large part of the globe in our political, corporate and institutional regimes. Its heresy to contest.
It used to be Global Warming but as the planet got drenched in floods and froze its butt off, a new catchphrase was needed...climate change! And that dopey head of the UN has turned up his fridgometer to Global boiling now! Him and Klaus " You'll own nothing but you'll be happy" Schwab will need a nice icebath together.
Even our own fearless leader is telling the world theres a "climate emergency ". Its big business, and sadly all the key players are wedded to the massive renewable industry in both an economic and philosophical sense.
On the domestic front, people are starting to see the consequences of committing to these net zero strategies. And the ridiculous thing is, even if you believe humans are contributing to any climate change, our tiny nations efforts mean zip while the Chinas and Indias continue to pollute their environmental asses off.
Its good to see scientists and professionals get together as mentioned above. I've always argued for every scientist who backs the climate change theory, theres one who will question it.
Biggest Con of our lifetimes in a world full of Cons.
The first con/ FEAR compaign with environmental issues started with the coming Ice age, global freezing...remember that...started in the late 60s / early 70's...abit before my time. But i do read up on such things.

WMO | United in Science 2023
14 September 2023
At the halfway point of the 2030 Agenda, the science is clear – the planet is far off track from meeting its climate goals. This undermines global efforts to tackle hunger, poverty and ill-health, improve access to clean water and energy and many other aspects of sustainable development, according the United in Science 2023 report, a multi-agency report coordinated by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO).

Let me add, however, there are at least two (probably more) nuances to those of us opposing the net zero model. I think we still have a responsibility to still preserve the environment- leave as much fresh water, clean air and natural ecosystems as we can. Recycle, dont pollute, be clean and tidy, love the animals etc.
Its the obsession with the argument that man made carbon emissions are causing the planet to heat to an unsustainable level and causing weather extremes, that I take issue with. Not using are own natural rich resources and favouring expensive, environment unfriendly (ironically) renewable infrastructure and systems...grrr.
It's a political and profit driven front for big business and its gonna hurt.

The Carbon emission deniers have lost the battle one has to say and naught they will be able to do about - coal will be phased out and replaced by alternative sources of generating energy needs.
