To reject media reports because the reporting organisation has a track record for publishing fake news is not conspiracy theory, nor is being skeptical about anything emanating from Western sources. WMDs were the gold standard but coverage of any thing involving "enemies" of the USA is as maybe. I'm not saying that the US is alone in that mind you.

Of course I haven't seen the footage of Hamas "fessing up". Israel should release it. As things are, Israeli propaganda is being well and truly taken to task (see the hospital bombing for example). Thats fine, playing loud Arab music in Jewish community areas is encouraged as are "peaceful protests" in support of Hamas.

Paddo if you tune into CNN or MSNBC in the last few days you would be very surprised at the live reporting from inside Gaza. The amount of destruction is very confronting, but nothing like the dead children lined up on the ground with their names written in Arabic on their legs, civilians being dragged out of debris, the severely injured in makeshift hospitals in underground car parks- death of innocent civilians everywhere,the unbelievable humanitarian disaster that is developing- it's just atrocious.

This isn't propaganda - just like the Hamas attack, this is reality for those inside of Gaza- it's a living hell for all the innocent civilians involved-and is presented so.

Build a series of walls like in Northern Ireland to separate the protagonists is one solution.

We had and still have relatives on both sides of the Peace walls in Belfast and Derry (Londonderry), and I vaguely remember the sound of explosions and gunfire during the day and at night when visiting them.

My Scottish mother thought it was best later on that they came to either England (London or Newcastle) or Scotland (Aberdeen), where we had and still have relatives, instead of us going to Northern Ireland.

Although they were not too fond of Irish folk in parts of England, I recall seeing signs such as No Irish, No Blacks, and No Dogs in London.

If they take out Hamas permanently it would be considered a success though.

Total war is not a modern concept, and unless you go back to medieval times and even before that, when armies fought each other on particular battlefields, of course there will be civilian casualties.
