One very special poster here has called for Palestine to be covered in pigs blood (obviously a religious reference ) andALL it’s people mowed down.

I’ve deliberately avoided replying to anyone whom I know or think has skin or blood in this conflict and will continue to do so. Id say that poster I’ve just mentioned has skin/blood in this. Even though our govt said it sides with Israel that though does not mean all its people do. Get about on social media the issue is extremely divisive. Personally I side with neither. I don’t care whose land it is. I’m actually quite concerned where or what this now leads to as it has the potential to get very ugly and drag others supporting either side into it

You are right though the situation will never resolve in our lifetime or ever. There is zero chance of that ever happening unless of course the whole place ends up like Atlantis taking all its people Now unlike one poster here I don’t want to see a whole country I should say two countries or either of it’s people mowed down or fall into the sea. But if it I had to chose between that or all out nuclear war. I know which I’d choose.
    Palestine is not a country.

Even though you are arguing semantics you are technically correct. However just like Kosovo, Palestine has its own borders its own flag and partakes in international sporting events. It is recognised by the vast majority of the international community as an autonomous state.

Oh Carlos doing exactly to me what you were offended that Paddo did to you by putting people down and pretending to know what others know or how they know it.

I was raised where politics and current affairs were not only watched but openly discussed amongst the family, even better or more interesting was not everyone agreed on things I’m also pretty well read and have always taken a very keen interest on such matters along with many others

Never argue with a mug Andy. Ol' Carlost is a right wingnut. Emotional disingenuous righteousness is his schtick with never a thought to context. Sure, that passionate dribble fools most people, Murdoch's made a fortune out of it. Gets all petulant though when his limitations are cruelly exposed. Unlike Jax who usually shuts up and cops it sweet waiting for a future opportunity, this goose rises to the bait every time - it's rope a dope, a seemingly endless font of entertainment for readers. I'm just hoping that he doesn't change tactics.

This cartoon is apt but is incorrect in positing that it represents a "World" attitude. The attitude is First World. Brown people see things differently.

The true horrors of the terror attacks are seeping around the world now:
                      - 40 babies taken from their homes and killed/some beheaded
                      - Elderly and dementia patients abducted with their carers, with no medications needed to sustain life
                      - young girls and women seized and subjected to rape; their own phones used to call their Mums and let them hear their daughters being raped
                      - executed innocents being photographed and their desecrated bodies uploaded to their own facebook pages, this is how their families and friends find out their fate.
' for every rocket fired on Hamas, they have promised to execute an innocent hostage and displey the results online..good old ISIS tactics.

And there's more examples of the terrorists human depravity that I won't subject you too. I just want you to know that the next time you hear "It's complex", "there's arguments on both sides" or "it has a long history"....say nah I'm sorry. The game has changed, all bets are off. There's warfare, there's land disputes, there's ideological differences. But the scourge of terrorism is on another level obviously. Its about terror, fear and extreme cowardice with picking easy soft targets living peaceful civilian lives.

Its good vs evil. I'm sorry guys you do have to pick a side. I think it was Dante Alighieri who said "The hottest places in hell are reserved for those who, in a moral crisis, maintain their neutrality ". Not to be consumed literally, but I trust you take my point.

And on the home front...the disgraceful scenes on our most iconic landmark beamed around the world.

What dreadful timing to stage a "peaceful protest" supporting Palestine the day after innocent people were slaughtered in the most heinous ways by the occupying Hamas terrorists. And it would have been more moderate to maybe not chant "gas the Jews", burn the Israeli flag, chant "river to the sea" comments and openly celebrate terrorist atrocities on innocent people.

But they got a police escort from Town Hall to the Opera House. And it was our Israeli Aussies and those of Jewish faith who were told to stay home. Mums and Dads were hoping to bring their confused kids to view the lit up sails and start the grieving and healing for them. But nope, lets take the easy option and sell a little more of our decent Aussie values down the shitter. There are about 100,000 people of Jewish faith in Oz, and around 10,000 Aussies living in Israel. We need to stand with them without equivocation.

Thanks NSW Govt and to our police for your heroic work. Where are the riot squads when you need them, or the heavy handed tactics against freedom protesters? How did these mindless, pathetic individuals get into this country? Have we had our normal good Aussie values of mateship and a fair go systematically eroded by hard left extremists like the Greens? I think we know the answer. These people walk amongst us.

These mongrels who owned our streets and landmarks are on a path to more radical action in this country, if we let them. Australian governments and law enforcements need to grow a spine and say a big Fcuk you to warped ideologies and protect Aussie values. Otherwise you'll be left to say something like "Its complex" while your mourning the loss of a loved one in our own backyard.

Im going to agree and disagree with you Jack.

                            This is just my opinion.....

I hate any public protest/ support or whatever you want to call them on our streets when it comes to overseas events/wars /conflicts. My parents came from Italy after WW2 and would always remind us all how lucky they were to come here and how lucky we are to be born here. My old man got off a boat, knew no one, lived in a tin shed in Campsie for 3 years just to have crap employment- a wage that he would spend mostly on food and paying someone to teach him english. My siblings and myself would hear his stories and were horrified...but he would always say "God Bless Captain Cook". He was so proud to be naturalised - i still got the certificate because i knew what it meant to him. So when i see these weak gutted dogs (thx Ricky), most of whom im sure were born here, bring their vile hate to our home it really pisses me off. Chanting all that rubbish-what a disgrace. If you round them up and said "you're being deported to the Gaza to fight what you obviously believe in" they would piss their pants and cry. Instead they all went home to their warm bed at at their mothers place.

Next! There is zero need to light up the Opera House or any other public landmark with the colours of any other country besides ours. Especially in a war, you will provoke a reaction from one side or the other. Its unnecessary- totally futile.

NSW police did the right thing not to throw fuel on the fire.Their job was to de-escalate and that was achieved. Remember they had no warning of the gathering-nor was there any violence. You dont need riot squads when there's no riot.
I'm not a Greenie by any means but i'm not sure why you would bring them up or think its a " hard left extremist" fuelled situation. Its like a few years back when the Greens got blamed for the bushfires because they " wouldn't allow burn backs". Well no, they are a minor party who dont run the country. Don't flatter them by exaggerating their importance.

Whoah.....Ground Control to all ratbags on the loose. Your leader Obersturmfuhrer Jaxie is clearly off his trolley. The "beheaded babies atrocity" begun by a Right Wing Israeli site was officially refuted days ago but, clearly, it didn't get a run on Sky. "babies on bayonets" goes back to WW1 fgs and still we have some yokels here persisting with it and will keep on doing so because the correction is too hard to reconcile. Having understood the massacre they then have to un-understand it - too hard for those who can't even understand the Voice referendum question.

Now as feared, the real massacre begins. The humanitarian catastrophe that the total blockade of Gaza represents - the criminal Israeli policy of collective responsibility. Weeks ago the usual suspects were strident in their concern for innocent Ukes but clearly not for innocent A-rabs.

Is not this voice of reason preferable to ol' Jaxie's call to arms?

And this from a Jewish commentator in Jerusalem. Someone with skin in the game unlike ol' Jaxie.

I nearly choked on my cornflakes " Obersturmfuhrer "....i haven't heard that word since history class back in year 9 Bankstown Boys high (of course).

"Real massacre".....was the Hamas one fake in some way? The attack was heinous. There is no excuse for what happened-zero

The impending ground offensive by Israel is a bad move (just my opinion). Moving in on 2 million people crammed in over 2000 sq miles, 40% of whom are children, is going to result in a long term disaster. More importantly, if your goal is to get back the hostages and destroy Hamas, a ground raid in Gaza wont achieve either. Neither will turning off their water food and electricity supply. In fact this is what Hamas want- the world and fellow Arab countries to see a humanitarian disaster and dead innocent people.

Now Israel have told the UN that 1 million people- children, elderly, people in hospitals, everybody....need to relocate to southern Gaza in 24 hrs. This is totally impossible and unacceptable. ....and it will lead to instability that will come back and bite them. Fighting violence with violence is a recipe for a disaster
