That loss sits firmly on Cummins for his ridiculous and arrogant declaration when 23 runs behind on Day 2 No Captain in their right mind declares when 23 behind on Day 2 it is indefensible
Well we will never know one or another. The one thing had Australia got out of gaol in that game it would have just been wallpaper over some big cracks. Would have been nice to see Smith bring up the winning runs with a century but wasn't to be.

I found it odd to declare, I’m assuming he thought they could get 2-3 wickets with the swinging ball, but that also showed some arrogance, similarity when the poms declared v Aus in the first test.

you gotta take the runs when they are on offer.

Yes the declaration surprised me at the time but like I said I think he was trying to get them under lights with the new ball. I heard the commentators mentioning that the players were all saying the worst time to see the ball is the last hour before stumps. Apparently it’s very hard to pick up the black stitching of the seam. Also, don’t forget that their last batter went off retired hurt. Had that not happened they may well have got more runs too.

Watching India V England Test at the moment I’ve now seen it all England went up for a LBW appeal but the ball clearly hit the bat and did not touch the pads On top of that not that this bit matters it wasn’t hitting the stumps

Spirit of the game in full swing in Hyderabad

Yeah , I said the same. They've been lucky in a lot of recent tests that one batsman or another will save the situation.

Anyway, it was a really enjoyable game. Test cricket is the only form I enjoy.

Resurrecting this thread as it’s that time of year again. India looking hopeless on the bouncy Perth wicket at the moment. It’s about time we got back to starting the test series off in Perth.

Well seems we were worse than India, what a debacle.

Aussie top shelf cricket is a joke right now.

Our only saving grace so far this season is a 3 match series T20 win over the Pakki’s by a second tier side.

Let’s hope we can turn this test around but it’s not looking likely.

Low scoring in the first innings by both teams due to the pitch being a bowlers pitch but now the pitch is drying out its becoming a batters pitch so I think Australia's second innings will replicate Indias second innings so far.

The biggest problem is we’re batting second and by the time we get to bat the pitch may start breaking up as it dries out n the hot sun.

I can’t see it mate. India should have this one in the bag. Disappointing as Optus stadium should be a fortress for us.
