Bloody hell today at work, before our shop was opened Santa was wandering through the centre ringing a bell at 8.30 am . I took my IPOD into work today , the first time in ages and after about an hour of nice music from it suddenly a choir pops up virtually outside the front door of the shop singing carols, i turned my IPOD up louder but i couldn't drown out the incessant warbling of Frosty the Snowman, The Little Drummer Boy and Joy to the World amongst others, i just gave up and turned off my music, bah humbug.
Oh Horrie I love The Little Drummer Boy.

Used to like to drive around the burbs to Southwestern Sydney to check out the Chritmas Lights and displays on the streets which had turned into the City of (Christmas) Lights.......

How long before we are not allowed to mention, or celebrate Christmas?

My wife is singing Christmas carols in a choir at Sydney town hall next week. One of the carols has been reworded because they are not allowed to sing 'Israel'.

I bet leftie Clover Moore has something to do with it.

The carolers were there again today and they only sung 4 different carols today but those 4 were repeated 4 times over the hour and again a bit later the same thing again. Ugggh i dont mind a lot of the carols but not on constant repeat..

I used to love watching this version of The Little Drummer Boy when i was younger.

You know when Christmas is getting close when the Agapanthus start blooming in Sydney around mid November, there is a warehouse on the highway close to home where the garden is overgrown and plenty of these flowers popping up so i wander down there and pick some for the house, saves paying for fresh flowers for 6-8 weeks and to me it gives the house a nice Christmas feel

I’ve got a few in front of our front gate and they’re looking good. Canberra is full of them too….and photinia hedges lol! What about the old Christmas beetle? I remember there being heaps of them this time of year when I was growing up in country NSW. I don’t see them as much now.

Yes we have a few in the front yard here too, years ago they were all the blue/ purple colour and just a couple of white ones but now its the other way around just about all white and just a couple of blue. The ones on the highway are all blue as is the front yard of our next doors neighbours, i pick some of our white ones to complement the blue ones.I just remember years ago the florist at work were selling them and i thought to myself why would you pay for them especially when they are virtually growing wild around the area so i started picking some for the vase and they look good .

Used to love when the Christmas beetles turned up, you would see some tree branches bending under the weight of the beetles but they are very rare now, i remember one flew into the kitchen last year or the year before that and that was the first i had seen in years.

Be careful, they could be Argentinian Scarab beetles.
