Yeah I can't see there being a change of government in the ACT. IMO it's more a question of how many seats the Greens hold rather than a left v right thing.

Though I'm progressive on most things, my personal view is that this holds as back a little as every time a policy is 'sent to a committee' it's sure as eggs gonna become law within ~6-12 months as the 'committee' will just be Labor and the Greens nutting put how to implement it (usually with things like 'you need to legalise drugs, give a discount on Teslas and kick landlords in their private parts if you want our support on the trams...'). They'll then have a gratuitous stab at the opposition, saying 'the Libs were the only member of the committee who refused to comment on these amazing suggestions or endorse the policy, showing how out of touch they are with the people'.

IMO at some point it'd be good for us to appoint a conservative party that can tighten the purse strings and provide a bit of scrutiny for some of the stuff that's been rubber-stamped over the years.

Ha hah ha! Don't you people know ANYTHING? The IMF named Howard as the most profligate spender evah ( government spending as a percentage of GNP - TWICE!! (MR will explain it).

They're NOT the superior money managers far from it - that's the rep the media mates have propagated. If anything they're stumble bums - the NBN, the billions wasted in "Defence" and now the fcuk up Snowy thing. It's the party of Capital fgs, not a bunch of well meaning rich people with the common man's interests at heart. They represent foreign polluting corporations for the most part.

FFS don't keep parroting the MSM.

Demonstrably untrue Andy. Look at the social reforms that are down to progressive parties in Australia alone and compare that to the Right wing USA - from 1910 there has been pensions, Workers' comp, 8 hour days, minimum wages, Medicare, the Trade Practices Act, unemployment benefits. The NDIS, Outer suburbs sewered fgs - everything fought tooth and nail by Conservative Australia. They opposed the building of the Sydney Harbour Bridge ffs. And the Left in Scandinavia has done more.

Even at the present the new Immigration overhaul will clean up the system that has brought thousands of unskilled visa holders here to be exploited by the avaricious creatures among us. 60% of those unfortunates are paid below the minimum wage. Those who were released by the High Court came by plane, not by leaky boat but our "tough on security" Tory brigade did nothing about that.

O'Farrell planned the WestConnex and the Libs built it but the media has Labor wearing the disaster. For years "Won't Work" signs have festooned the Inner West - 10 lanes won't go into 3 lanes easily! Who knew?

That "they're all the same" is Tory/media bullshit. Believe it if you will, but stop parroting it please.

FGS smell the coffee old man going back to 1910 reeks of desperation and clinging on to days long gone. Indeed there was a clear distinction between the two back then but the times have changed over the last 50 years. You conveniently forget or ignore it was a Labor Govt who signed the Lima Act of 1975 which has had a disastrous effect on our industry seeing 100s of thousands of jobs lost over time.

But both parties are to blame for this deceit and betraying our nation and cosying up to the UN. Whilst Labor started this a conservative govt Fraser’s followed through with it, but then Hawke and Keating amped up this non binding agreement I’m not laying blame as such showing demonstrable evidence how both parties have worked hand in hand for want of a better way to put it In saying that the irony of your so called workers party initially signing up to such a policy which has seen 100s of thousands of jobs lost over time whilst decimating manufacturing and industry in this country cannot be left unsaid

The same bird with different wings you are just too ignorant to see if and continue to cling on to days long gone by where there was a clear difference between the left and right

I can’t wait to hear your condescending response which will no doubt include being a sheep who is blindly led by the msm and it’s Tory roots

Yep it is not even about left and right anymore. It's about freedom and total control. Hopefully enough people wake up to that before it's too late

You gotta lay off those Right Wing websites buddy - the Lima Agreement, one of Pauline's crusades and all of that anti vax stuff.

My point was/is that social democratic parties are responsible for the life improvements of most wage earning ordinary folk . The historical stuff supports that evidence and most, if not all of those reforms are still in place. To say that pointing them out is living in the past is silly. Can you point to just one Tory "reform" apart from the guns buyback, that has added to the welfare of the masses?

The exodus of capital from the West in the Globalisation period is not down to Lima, it's more the case that Corporations took advantage of an agreement between former Imperialists, to do something about the rapid economic decline of the 3rd World to the advantage of all (You know, lots and lots of boat people on the move). Corporations and local companies moved out of their own volition to keep costs minimal. You know - Capitalism!! Anyway Protectionism in a rapidly changing world of stagflation was a dead letter. Why not blame Capitalism?

Someone obviously let Padded Cell 61 out of solitary.

                          God this bloke is tedious.

An obvious burning hatred of Howard and conservative politics. But no real evidence to back up his spittle flecked blatherings.

Give it up weirdo. You could bore an arsehole in a wooden horse.
1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
