I notice things have gone quiet so people must be relaxing (while I'm still working coz I wanna use my leave for a trip to my spirital homeland of Italy later on in the year).
Hope everybody's having fun regardless of what they're up to. Because sharing is caring, here's my holiday season summary:
- I'm training for a fast marathon (well by my personal standards) in the new year so that I can qualify for the London Marathon. Just doing base training at the moment as I'm in between events but the goal's to go hard after x-mas so that I can post my qualifying time at the Canberra Marathon.
- To assist with my performance, I've been carb loading. On the weekend I visited my neighbour who we affectionately call 'the General' in order to hand-over some presents and let his kids pat our dog. Instead we got invited in for a dinner and drinks (and our dog pissed on their $$$ rug). I then rushed back to get some of my limoncello (plus some of the Vietnamese moonshine that my father in-law imported for me in vinegar bottles) and the party went from there.
- Our beach house burned down during the bushfires and the new one SHOULD be ready for a family get together down the coast. If not, we will host a similar shindig in Canberra.
- Planning to do a few cheeky NYE period parkruns (I don't usually do shorter stuff). The plan's to grab a wifebeater from Bonds and wear my basic shoes as I have a secret desire to rock up to a random parkrun looking like a beginner (plus smelling like turps) and grab the winning time from some ultra-competitive weekend warrior who's been waiting all year for the chance to win while everybody's away. Open to suggestions on my running outfit. Planning to have the wifebeater, some farting dog boardies, POS fake Oakleys, a dirty 3 day growth (maybe one of those stupid chin beards that petrol heads grow) and some beer as perfume.
- Other than that... let's see! Party tiiiiime mugga fuggaaaaaz!!!
