I just shared what I was doing on Australia Day This is how you chose interpret it as f it appears you would have preferred I didn’t do this

The events we are attending are known as Indigenous events and our Chinese friends where we are having the BBQ at are Chinese not Australian. They are doing something Australian for Australia Day

You really do need to think before you type

People claiming some indigenous heritage live here. Does that make them better or more entitled than me...No.

Most of those claiming Indigenous ancestry have mixed heritage anyway, European Asian or Anglo blended. Is their issue with the date of Australia Day any more important than my issue with wanting to keep it...No.

I'm not aware of anyone still living now who was here when settlement first started in 1788. So, I think as a society we place way too much emphasis on lineage based on geography. We all have ancestry with sad, tough stories to tell.

The important and relevant thing now is to appreciate and celebrate our history but mainly the amazing things and accomplishments in such a relatively short timeframe. To toast what makes this country great. See sig.
Thing is Jack is you're actually saying lets celebrate the great achievements and living in this country- so your happy to reflect on that....but lets overlook the Indigenous communities feelings about the actual date because they really shouldn't have hang ups about what happened to their ancestors.

So what's your answer- well let them come and celebrate with us so we can be one? Unfortunately that's not what most of the Indigenous want. It's not our right to make a call about how the feel about the 26th of January. If moving the Australia date is their preference then where is the harm of that?

However the majority of old white males are really thinking " well if they get that, then what will they want next?" It really isn't that scary! I mean you hear the usual crowd " Go Woke, Go Broke".....how many corporates have actually gone broke? Around zero. Barbie was the most blatantly "woke" movie of the year, and also the highest-grossing film of 2023. World is changing

He doesn't get that Randy. Jax's is a fondly remembered regional Australia - Anglo, conservative and naive with a big dash of ruthlessness re the "other". No blacks at the public baths..Troublemakers were silenced by Special Branches, the Public Service had an ex - serviceman preferred policy - a poke in the eye to those who had opposed Conscription. Whitlam opened the sun roof.
Jax and Co abhor change. Whitlam shook their foundations and the ongoing social evolution is driving them to distraction - What, blokes marrying blokes, that's not Australian is it?

Barbie was the highest grossing movie of the year because it was smartly aimed at children , much like Shek , and the wiggles. Mum and Dad had no choice to take them

I will celebrate Australia Day by watching the cricket, doing some gardening and more planning for our upcoming UK trip. I have no problem with indigenous Australians disliking the date and fully respect their opinion on the subject.

Poor 08 playing the victim. You are an old fool and a bitter old man with a chip on his shoulder. I did nothing of the sort and I am not wanting your forgiveness I couldn’t give a flying Fcuk what a narcissist like you thinks.

Be careful MR I’m sure after Captain Cummins comments you watching the cricket will offend a few here

What absolute rot 08 You were offended to my response to your comment of me not celebrating in an All Australian way as I am attending some Indegenous events. That comment from you clearly seperates the Indigenous from other Australians and somehow by me pointing this out I’ve indicated you are racist and you play the victim. Not once have you sort to retract that statement

From the get go you’ve responded with name calling then when you get a bit back you don’t like it and again play the victim by calling ageism Truly pathetic

Now as for falling off the horse I’ve come down plenty of times but I always get up and come back better. It’s easier to do when you don’t play the victim and care not too much for what others say or think and just go about your business

Mate I don't care what you think because you obviously don't, or you wouldn't continue to make such a dick of yourself. You are not relevant, but the scary thing is you believe you are. Let it go Andy. Mate you have played the victim on so many occasions on here I and others have lost count. You believe you have the only opinion that matters on very topic. Thing is I never lay down for the likes of you.
The reason I got my back up is because you indicated I am racist. My last point and you need to figure this out . My mother's maiden name is Archer, her mother was a Collins. From the Goolagong area . We have only ever recognized ourself and our immediate family as Australian . we have asked for nothing and taken the same . Take this info any way you please. Racist I am not

The only thing offensive about the cricket at the moment is the fact the Windies are so crap. But that’s for another thread.
