Mate, your doin your head in with this obsession with hundreds of years ago living. Its time to move on and really celebrate the incredible achievements and benefits bestowed upon us all, indig included. Glass half full...have a sip. Put the real definition into 'progressive' ...not constantly agonising over ideological assessments of history long gone.
Wow "they were just here". Great way to dehumanise a race- like they were just here, like the dingos, wombats and the gum trees
However its a great statement that Putin and Xi can use for "expansion"- you'd want to hope Australia isn't on the list of the latter!! I can just hear it now "Well its ok because they were just here in the way and hey, in 100 years or so none of them will be around anyway"
Times are changing Jack. You going to boycott the NRL because of their statement today in relation to Australia Day being a 'painful and sorrowful day' for Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander people? Maybe not watch the cricket because of Pat Cummins or Steve Smith views? They took the time to ask Indigenous team mate Scott Boland on how he feels about the day.

You do know it is possible to hold conversation watch the cricket cook the meat drink water and even post on here all at the same time. Some call it multi tasking and I’m sure a former highly successful retired business man such as yourself might also possess such talents. But then again seeing you forgot about mobile phones with your other ridiculous post perhaps not.
You have extreme views on so many subjects and continue to tell me and others how we should feel about things that seeing that you have no Aboriginal blood in you have absolutely nothing to do with you .
Growing up in a small country town in the 60s and 70s we never copped the racism that is around now and for me I blame the woke like you for telling us what we need. I was given every opportunity to succeed no matter my race and succeed I did . As before I don't believe in the word we are indigenous, I believe in the word we are Australian.

I still do this with my daughter as she’s made it ‘our tradition’ even though I barely know a single song these days. But we’re doing that tomorrow because they moved it from Australia Day a few years ago. Hope you’ve been able to fix up most of the damage you had from those horrible storms?

I'm not pushing any agenda-let alone a dangerous one. All i'm saying is if the majority of the Indigenous find the date offensive then why can't we move it. That's all!!! Nothing more and nothing sinister!!
Incidentally a quick check on James Lindsay and you'll find he was busted for putting forward fake journals that got pulled ..... lots of nonsense jargon but hey "publish or perish" as they say
...for 'invasion', 'mourning', 'sovereignty', 'stop deaths in custody', 'always was-always will be -Aboriginal land' etc.

Where I think you are getting confused is that you consider me explaining the reasoning for my thoughts and opinions and me enjoying the wit and repartee that comes along with that when someone holds opposite views as me telling you or others how to think. Which is plain wrong
PS You contradict yourself beautifully by telling me I have no right to express my opinion as you think it is me telling you what to do because I have no Aboriginal blood in me, but then go along and say you don’t consider yourself indigenous. So by your last sentence it appears you define yourself as Aboriginal/Indigenous when it suits but consider yourself Australian and not Aboriginal/ Indigenous if it suits as well. Well played 08 a classic bet each way or semantics in its purest form.
Finally whilst the date stays as is I will continue to celebrate it on this day But I do think it will change in the next twenty years. In essence you are the one here telling me what to think on this topic or more precisely not to think as we have no right to do so due to blood lineageLast edited by Andrew Walker; 01-27-2024, 11:10 AM.When you trust your television

But stop changing the subject I’m now concerned with you being Australian when you want and wanting your Aboriginality indegenous background not to be relative ( for want of a better way to put it ) but feeling only those who are Aboriginal and Indigenous by blood have the right to comment and have opinions on matters relating to all Australia #141

Apparently yesterday 50k people were offended enough to protest whilst the other 27 m or so of us Aboriginal , Asian , Italian , Jew , Ukraine, Russian and Anglo Saxon enjoyed our great day . The loud minority always attract the most attention .Much like you seeking it .
No now you are just making more demonstrably false allegations trying to run away from answering my question in #148 and 146
I have never used offended or hurt in any post in this thread I’ve also never used the term invasion day throughout this threadWhen you trust your television
