  • Vale Robin Gibb

Another famous music artist has passed away, although it was not unexpected seeing Robin had been battling cancer for some years and recently being in a coma it is still very sad .Although he was not my favourite Bee Gee is was still an intergeral part of one of the biggest selling groups of all time, he leaves behind a fine music legacy. With Maurice and now Robin gone and also younger brother Andy it leaves only Barry as the only surviving Gibb brother.

    RIP Robin.

The best thing you can say about a musician is that they changed music. Robin and his brothers changed music.

That One Night Only concert is getting a run this weekend.

Another sad day in the music world.
I grew up with their music, watching it on Bandstand.

Another tragic loss. Seems to happen to some families and the song "I'm glad I'm not a Kennedy" comes to mind. Could also apply to this one.

Very sad news Horrie. There will be none of our favourites left soon. I saw the Bee Gees at the Sydney Entertainment Centre in the early 90's. I loved their album called 'One". It was one of the first I ever purchased on itunes and I still listen to it quite often.

I also grew up with the Bee Gees, I felt something of an affinity with Robin and Maurice.

I'm the same age as them, my name is Maurice, and they lived up the road from me in Maroubra.

I followed thier career closely. I absolutely loved Robin's Falseto voice and the harmonies with the other, amazing.

I just gotta get a message to you and New York mining disaster where my favorite songs.

Today is a sad, sad day for me.

              Vale Robin. Rest In Peace.

I was flicking through the TV channels last night and came across a special on Max which was showing the top 10 Robin Gibb songs. The Bee Gees did have some beauties didn't they, especially the really early ones. Would have liked to have watched it all but I'm hooked on Revenge so switched over to that half way through.

If I would have thought about it at the time I would have IQd the rest of it to watch later - hindsight's a wonderful thing isn't it.

When the Bee Gees were very young and living in Brisbane, my late uncle hired them to play at a function in our home town of Warwick. We still have a photo of him with the Bee Gees somewhere, taken in the 1960's. I was in the lift at work today and on the news screen inside it said they may erect a statue of them in Brisbane.

Prolific song writers and performers. My mum flogged them to death when I was growing up I had no choice but to sing along. Now my kids know most Bee Gee songs.

                      RIP

                      Chook.
