One of my favourite sayings over the years is ‘Only in America’. Surely they can find a couple of candidates under the age of 60? Both parties! Only in America.

My FIL has very serious dementia too so it’s something I’m also very familiar with. Dementia or not though there comes a time when you need to call it a day, when the mind slows down.

Biden's dementia has been evident for quite a few years. You have to wonder what games the Democrats are playing having him front and centre.

IMO calling him too old is a bit like calling Wayne Bennett too old. The party's policies are there and the Daaaanuuuuwlllld is no younger (or more stable, he's a farking loon who has weird@rse conspiracy theories about the last election & coordinated a delusional insurrection).

I reckon the biggest issue with politics right now is that we've gone through a generation of youngsters who don't value wisdom, think that Googling a topic makes them an immediate genius (you should see a grad I tried training - BOOM - as soon as I mentioned anything she'd already be zoned out trying to Google it in order to 'correct' me... and it's for sure I'd have HR called on me if I was like 'can you get away from your computer for a second and LISTEN?!? Coz you won't find the answer on there!!! Imagine this is a uni assignment and you just quoted wikipedia when asked to analyse what the leg says and how court have interpreted it... I'm just trying to save you that step as this is our bread and butter' [once I finally get a word in they'll then roll their eyes at me and be thinking 'haha what a d*mbarse boomer... STFU, I don't care']) and it's become okay to just call EVERYTHING corrupt/wrong (often on the basis that a Google search that's pulled up a niche blog run by conspiracy theorists has come up with a contrary view).

One can blame the Daaaawnllllld but the people can and do get the ultimate aay. IMO he's only a serious chance of getting elected because people from both sides of politics seriously believe that elections & court systems are all rigged. Also, things like the Stormy Daniels shyte woulda been the absolute pits in a bygone era! The standard of political discourse has gone so far down the shytter that infidelity, bribes and braggingly grabbing (potentially) minors by the genitals means fark all.

The Daaaanaaaawlllld has grabbed all of our p*ssies and on a global scale we're getting what we deserve.

After WWII and shyte we SHOULD have known better!!! We SHOULD have known that there are standards for public decency that politicians should be held to for good reason. If somebody believes that the election's rigged and the courts are rigged (or worse still - knows they're not but bullshytes his head off because he knows his constituents will follow) SHOULD by every measure be written off by the public. However, the public don't give a fark.

It's all very odd because we've 'progressed' but become more selfish / conservative at the same time. I don't understand the current population or political agendas. Current political discourse is a joke with so many people being disengaged on both sides of the spectrum. I'm keen to know what the next political paradigm will bring once today's kids have grown up.

It's not his age. He is clearly cognitively impaired.

Yes same to you. Biden needs care, not a job.

Say the same thing about the Donald who is a complete loon, waffles on about complete BS and is a major conspiracy theorist.

Oh wait... you're a conservative so you back him 100% and would never say such a thing. Zzzzzz. Tell us another one brudda

My reading of the 'debate' is that it's very difficult to debate somebody who's talking complete nonsense. It's not international leaders who are making these claims about Biden (they're all perfectly fine with his aptitude)... it's the ridiculous nature of contemporary public discourse.

IMO it's completely inappropriate that a guy can call the whole electoral system a scam (with no evidence), have multiple criminal convictions relating to electoral fraud, have encouraged an insurrection and then go on stage suggesting his opponent is suffering from dementia (which is a personal insult).

Trump sets a ridiculously low bar for public discourse.

Having lost both parents to dementia I find the way they are wheeling Biden out and putting his condition under the spotlight highly offensive and disgusting

You are deadset living in cloud coockoo land if you don’t realise Biden has dementia. Some of us here have or are currently experiencing it with our Parents. We can see the signs and they have been evident for some years in Biden The other day it was on show for all people with an open mind and a brain to see. I suggest you keep quiet in this subject and allow us to think you are a fool as opposed to carry on talking about it and eliminate any slight doubt

That's what I've been thinking. The people behind Biden don't have his best interests at heart. Offensive and disgusting. Well said Mr Walker.

Yes agree with what most are saying. I don’t like Trump at all but given Biden’s mental decline likely due to the onset of dementia, he should be retiring gracefully and those close to him should be advising him to do so. My FIL just turned 92 but has been in aged care for about 5 years now. It was fairly obvious and noticeable when things started to change for him.

I had the debate on but the volume turned down and even then just looking at Biden's puzzled looks you could tell was going on, reminded me of my mother in her later years.

My missus thinks i'm crazy for turning off the volume while watching Sky Racing on a Saturday afternoon, but i just don't want to be influenced by the so called experts giving their opinions on a race. However watching a debate without any sound is next level!! What on earth made you do that?

I put the music on after watching something on TV but left the TV on, just flicked the channels and there was Trump and Biden going for it and didn't want to listen to the diatribe but left it on and was watching the reaction between Trump and Biden which was almost funny but actually more disturbing.
