If the numbers stay the way they are now its pretty much 50/50. Harris will win the popular vote (you can still get $1.40 Harris on the TAB) but it means shit.

doesn't make sense that an election for a leader of the whole country is done state by state - but there's no way it will change so long as one party clearly benefits from it. partisan interests trump fairness. senate is similarly unfairly weighted towards the smaller states but guess there's an argument about states' rights in a federal system.

it's possible trump threw the 'kamala is not black' grenade in an attempt to get her to come out all guns blazing on race which while shoring up a constituency that is already heavily supporting her might have alienated more non-black voters. but she played it with a dignified straight bat. early days but harris is up for the fight
