don't think closing threads is a good idea.
one of the reasons the trump thread was started was to stop people bringing trump up in the main section. if they want to talk about politics it should be in the off topic area which at one level is a kind of sewer to keep the main section concentrated on the roosters.
if the sewer is blocked every chance the shit appears in the main section.
better to give short bans to posters who go over the top
