  • Not sure why the pile on for the Matilda's when you consider the USA and Germany were in their group so a tough ask to advance from this group. USA played Germany in the semi-final and won 1-0. USA won the gold medal with a 1-0 win over Brazil, and Germany won the bronze medal with a 1-0 win over Spain.

The Matilda's lost 2-1 to the USA.

World FIFA Women's rankings as of June 2024.

    Germany- 4
    USA- 5
    Australia- 12

Now back on topic Are all the events over and if not do we have any more realistic chances of Gold Medals
I think there's a couple of cycling events left that might yield a medal. Otherwise, it's done and dusted.
1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.

                  • Have to feel sorry for Hannah Green in the golf. But for a double bogey on the front 9 in the 4th round, she'd have won silver with an unblemished score card.

                    • I can't stop laughing about this Raygun thing.

Apparently she's a Professor at Macq Uni in gender and politics or something. Has a PhD in breakdancing culture...yep.

A wag on Facebook commented that Those who can't, teach. True.

Her Thesis Major included references to colonialism and white privilege. Ok can see where this is goin.

I wonder how she got her platform at the Olympics then? Still wondering.

Good question! What does Paul Murray or Rita Putarna have to say about it on Sky News last night?

Not sure...I'll see if I can find a more reputable source like ABCs Insiders or QnA. They will have the good oil.. Very impartial, very accurate.
