  • What's your favourite cocktail?

Because sharing is caring... I hit up a solid cocktail bar in small town Japan during my most recent visit and got a little bit tipsy on the old cocktails and had a pretty sweet night.

Ended up doing a bit of bar crawling including to a place called 'sea man' (which looks like a ship) and then to a place called Style (where I got a free glass of champers before being joined by 3 model-like women... at which point I concurrently saw a red-faced gentleman receive a ~$2000 bill for ~4 bottles of champaign he'd just shouted everybody and went 'faaaark... I'm outta here ASAP!!!' before running home to bed).

Anyhow back to the cocktail bar. They had a 2 storey drink cabinet and an internationally recognised cocktail dude so I basically just went down the list and tried them all... my favourite being the Jack Rose.

Previously my favourite was a daiquiri (which is still a close second, followed by a Caucasian... as the Dude calls it).

Curious - what sorta cocktails do other 'penners like? Also, is there a decent venue around the Eastern suburbs that I could hit up?

Most of the time a nice cold Beer Daquiri but if they don’t do that, an Amaretto Sour

      Kens at Kensighton maybe.
I heard they do a good cocktail called a cock sucking cowboy there.
Ingredients: ( 2 parts) Baileys Irish Cream, (1 part) cold Butterscotch Schnapps

For such a fit athletic type Jizz, I am amazed you can hit the finer things in life with such reckless abandon lol....

I am sort of fit (but no where near your standards Jizz) but only when I don't drink for months on end......

Re cocktails, I don't drink them, its usually beer or spirits and if I want to get really fancy perhaps a mixer lol, eg Bourbon and Dry and I havent had one of those in ages hahaha.....

Hahaaha yes life's all about balance I reckon. If it helps I'm pretty strict on my day-to-day diet and don't drink very often. However my trips to Japan (where I go out to remind myself that most Japanese people are awesome to me - the ex's new bloke is the single exception to the rule) and celebrations are a good time to compensate.

Should also note that distance running makes your body really good at processing all the alcohol. I don't have any numbers in mind but I would have to abuse my body to end up drunk / hung-over (e.g. mindlessly chugging bottles of hard spirits purely to get drunk, which would be gross. My VERY generous in-laws always get me a $$$ whisky from the airport when they visit and our cellar's pretty much a liquor store now as it's never yhe 'right occasion' to crack one of them open).

Always love a good cocktail to end the week though. Most of the time it's a cosmopolitan for my wife and a daiquiri for me. Something fun about doing cocktails

                  Do prawn cocktails count?
But seriously, I don’t really drink cocktails. I prefer light mixed spirits if I drink alcohol which isn’t very often.

As long as you use a fork and not a straw I think that's ok

I like making lychee martini's at home but the trouble is i drink them to quick and they are potent when i make them
Also love a good margarita but the difference between a good one and a bad one could put you off for life, i am just amazed how they can vary so differently from venue to venue.

Bought some orange juice home from the hospital visit today so i have just made an old fashioned Screwdriver while i'm waiting for the chicken wings and kibbeh to heat up, just orange juice and vodka, don't think i have had one for about 40 years or more.

The old vodka and orange used to be my go to drink years ago. Now on the rare occasion I drink I just buy one of those vodka cruiser type things from a bottle.
