Oh, how disappointing. I was hoping we had another female Chookpenner. Although you did sound a bit on the 'masculine' side.

Jack Dorsey finally admitted that Twitter removed several of Donald's tweets as soon as they were posted calling for the protesters to peacefully leave the capital building and go home.

The families of the 13 soldiers who were honoured at the Arlington memorial personally invited Trump to the ceremony.

Brian Sicknick died the next day (Jan 7th) from 2 strokes. The medical examiner stated it was from "natural causes" and that "all that transpired played a role in his condition". He was otherwise in good health and only 42 years old. 4 officers who responded to the attack committed suicide within 7 months. You cant say with certainty either way with any of the above if Jan 6th was the reason for any of these deaths

What isn't in question was 174 officers were injured- everyone has seen the footage.

The white woman you speak of was Ashli Babbit, who was trying to get through a shattered window and enter into the Speakers Lobby and was shot in the shoulder by the State Capitol Police and later died. Babbit fell into the QAnon conspiracy trough and believed Trump was fighting a Democrat run cabal of satan worshipping child abusers and trafficking. Why was she even there? Why were any of them there? It didn't need to happen.

Jack Dorsey did not delete Trumps tweets on Jan 6th calling for the protesters to be peaceful or any of the sort. Thats simply not true. He did shut down Trumps twitter account a couple of days later as he continued to violate the rules

Trump or any other president can go to any ceremony honouring fallen soldiers. The issue was filming or photographs in "Section 60" contravened federal law, "which prohibits political campaign or election-related activities within the cemeteries" Trumps campaign staff decided that law didn't apply- and they were going to get the "thumbs up" photo opportunity not matter what. The Army released a statement that included a strong rebuke of Trump’s campaign and pointed out that participants at the event Monday “were made aware of federal laws” regarding political activity at the cemetery and “abruptly pushed aside” an employee of the cemetery. Trumps history of sidestepping military ceremonies for fallen soldiers is very well documented (as was his dodging of the Vietnam war conscription with "bone spurs"- although his supporters get very upset when you mention it!) and it was coming back to bite him- hence the trip to Airlington. I mean who smiles with a thumbs up at a cemetery?

All of this could have been avoided if he accepted the results of the 2020 election- but he didn't and unless he wins in November he won't accept it again.

And here's video of the 13 families spokespeople talking about the Arlington ceremony. They did in fact ask Trump to take photos and video.

Heres a log of Trumps actions during Jan 6th. He knew Exactly what he was doing, he just didn't get the desired result. His conversation with Mike Pence and then Kevin McCarthy says it all.

            https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politic...6-insurrection

The issue at Airlington was not that he showed up- it was that photos were prohibited in section 60 and his campaign staff knew that but didn't care. These 13 families can say what they like, as can other families with deceased loved ones who came out and blasted what happened.....because in the end the US Army released a statement and thats final

'blatant lies'? hard to prove that he would have died if the storming of the capitol hadn't taken place. random rooster's made some good comments - bearing in mind that as a security worker himself he's got some skin in the game.
one of trump's problems is that he's a sore loser. normal people don't allege electoral fraud without evidence. nixon didn't do it in 1960 and gore didn't do it in 2000. both of them had better cases than trump but trump has no scruples. while his speech on jan 6 mentioned marching 'peacefully and patriotically' once it talked about the need to fight multiple times. if trump had worked as a cop or had a child working as a cop defending the capitol or gave a **** about cops he would have made it crystal clear that he didn't want the marchers to confront law enforcement officers.

Well as i said back then it was getting very heated in these off topic threads, even some going down the road of meeting up for kebabs- so yes i decided to move to the footy section.
However it seems ( after a few closed threads) we are all calm and reasonable now so its a pleasure to return.

Plus the footy threads after yesterday are getting me down.

                      Did you miss me Jack?

Trump asked Pence not to certify the results of the election. Pence put the constitution above Trump. JD Vance wouldn't put the constitution above Trump, which is why he is Trumps VP elect.

Can you imagine a scenario in Australia whereby one of the 2 major political parties doesn't accept the results of the election? Its the end of your democracy and the start of the autocracy. Luckily we are a different animal compared to the USA

Umm... Yes and No. I admire the way you stand up for yourself and others on a personal level. But I don't enjoy the ever consistent left wing toadying and TDS you suffer from.
