Of course they did. They smeared his good name, tried to put him in jail and attempted to assassinate him. Trump endures.

A couple of famous musicians (well sort of) giving Donald a serious reality check. Great song and even greater lyrics.

Confounds the Science - (Parody of) Sound of Silence - REMIX | Don Caron / Linda Gower (youtube.com)
"Do you expect me to talk"? "No, Mr. Bond, I expect you to die".

We just have to agree to disagree on some points.

I honestly believe in December whoever gets to 270 Electoral Votes will have done so fair and square. As i said, the polls are 50/50 in the swing states and thats not good news for the Democrats because the previous election had Biden winning easy and thats not how it turned out. Similarly in the mid terms the polls predicted a red wave for the Republicans and that didn't turn it. However the mid terms didn't have Trump on the ballot per se.

My personal opinion, even taking into account my TDS, at the moment the numbers to me looks like a comfortable Republican win. I still don't like him as a person-and i never have even way before he became president- going back over 30 years to the Central Park Five case.

Side note that has nothing to do with US politics....i did a fair bit of fitness training (over a decade ago) with recently booted Liberal State director Richard Shields. He was podgy but worked real hard to get into top shape. Im sorry to see the recent fiasco involving him......he is a great bloke, very witty, always positive and upbeat

Yes, all levels of politics need good people. When there is a fall guy after a bungle like that, there's usually more to the story. It was inexcusable but the levels of administrivia that parties, candidates and those who administer elections are subject to is huge. I really think the Commission should have exercised some discretion with those deadlines, playing hardball benefits no-one in this case. Well maybe the non-Lib candidates!

I know people tend to disregard the local govt elections a bit, but with Councils trying to become more than just Roads, Rates, Rubbish and Rats ...its important to get decent people in the chairs.

Personally I'll be supporting our local 'Independent ' candidate over the Libs one as I like his strong conservative values.

it was bad for democracy that the libs stuffed things up but hard for the independent state electoral commission to intervene. they've got their rules and no doubt they've been times in the past when candidates have less spectacularly missed the deadline and been denied leniency.
the independence of our electoral commissions is a great thing about aust democracy. ask an employee who they vote for and they're not allowed to tell you

And destroy him she did. Watched every minute of that debate and it was very interesting. His blabbering only got worse as the debate went on. His days are well and truly numbered - hopefully in more ways than one.

                              • she was strong and landed a few punches. doesn't matter so much who won - all that matters is what the undecided voters in michigan, wisconsin, philadelphia, nevada, arizona, georgia and north carolina thought. trump's a known quantity and unlikely people will change their opinion about him after the debate but for those who were uncertain about harris being up for the fight she showed that she is
