I’m doing less and less Christmas cards these days as sadly I have fewer people to give them to. I still have a few older aunts and uncles who keep up the tradition but most of my relatives / friends (around my age or a bit younger) just seem to use facebook nowadays. My siblings and I exchange small gifts to each other without cards and then I’ve got all the young ones like my nieces and nephews who are all around my kids ages 18-22 who never heard of the tradition at all.

I wonder who’s not on who’s Xmas card list around here this year?
I often think that a flow chart reflecting this would have many twists and turns, and be a head spinning read.
It is amusing to watch how people navigate these complexities at a given point in time. And of course I'm part of that matrix treading the lines. Although, as a long term member and an old bugger, I care less about who I might upset these days. It comes with experience
So Rented Tracksuit, are you good with flowcharts?

Nobody is getting a Christmas card from me The last few months have been a not so polite reminder as to why I find most people a disappointment and struggle to connect with most In many ways I really dislike a lot of peopleWhen you trust your television

Yes as the years go by the Christmas card list gets shorter and shorter, some people have passed on or moved on. Seeing we will be away next week up till almost Christmas Eve we aren't even putting up the Christmas tree this year, only because we will only have a few days of looking at it, i do like having the Christmas tree on display but didn't think it was worth it this year for about a week. And just as we are getting back home a couple of days before Christmas Eve i just booked Christmas Lunch at one of the city hotels instead of sweating it out in the kitchen Christmas day. Going to be a completely different Christmas for me this year as it will be the first time in around 38-39 years that i haven't worked in some kind of retail. When you trust your television

No more hoards of people doing their last minute Christmas shopping. Apparently yesterday was chaotic enough at our local shopping centre with the Black Friday sales. I didn’t go but my daughter filled me in on how crazy busy it was.
Its funny, since i have been off work we have gone through two managers and also have another area manager also, the acting manager spoke to me last week and said he learnt more about how the shop ran and where things were in a five minute phone call from me than him being physically in the store for two weeks.
We went down to the centre on Saturday and it was chaos, luckily found a park on the street after trying to negotiate the car park. I have to drop a medical certificate into work this week but the times i have been going into the centre lately i have walked past the work place and said i feel no connection to that place anymore where a couple of months back i would go in and check on whether they needed change and banking done and also tidy up the emails which get out of hand even though i wasn't working. The care factor about the place has gone for me now.
