Walking around the neighbourhood and into a pub yesterday I’ve noticed the decorations for Halloween starting to pop up. It made me wonder who takes or has anyone taken part part in this festivity If so what will you be doing and or what have you previously done to mark Halloween

I don’t subscribe to this American nonsense. It was never around when I was growing up and suddenly it was everywhere when the kids were young. My daughter thinks my attitude is one of an old fogie and I need to get with the times. I politely disagree. It’s just another over commercialised day for Colesworth etc to make more money.

We do it. Have so since I was a kid and now do it to entertain the neighbourhood kids.
we get a real sense of community around ours. Kids from primary school right through to college come by for the fun.
we dress up the house and play spooky music for a few hours. We’ve already stocked up on lollies and chocolates and are hoping to make it through the evening without running out too quick like last year.
Strangely enough, we get more kids popping by here than we did living in the States but the decorations are much bigger and detailed over there.
Will be dressing up the skeleton as RayGun this year.
Looking forward to it.FVCK CANCER

Was out at Eastgardens today and you walked straight into stores like Big W, Target and Kmart and first was the Christmas trees and decorations and then right next to them were the Halloween stuff, ughhhh.

My daughter is going to a Halloween party tomorrow night and has done so for a few years now, and as a child she was always going out with her best friend trick or treating with the friend’s mum close behind. Still, does nothing for me haha.
we do put the balloon out though to show we are actively taking part.
My wife and I don’t even answer the door. Our kids have taken in that role now. They love seeing the younger ones in their Halloween get up.FVCK CANCER

When we lived in the US, the kids would take a pillow case and pretty much full them up!FVCK CANCER

But to answer your question, approx 22 million pumpkins go to waste each year. I wouldn’t call it a waste tho. Carving pumpkins is a lot of fun.Last edited by rented tracksuit; 10-23-2024, 01:23 PM.FVCK CANCER
