  • Favourite alcoholic bevvie?

During my travels I've enjoyed a few different bevvies. For example in Italy I enjoyed limoncello, Aperol (with a bit of Prosecco) and various house reds from the Valtellina region. I've also been known to order a dash of grappa from under the counter following my morning coffee or 1L of beer to quench my thirst on a hot day.

Today I'm in Portugal (staying with friends in a country area ~45 mins north of Porto) where I had a tasting board of ports to celebrate 10 years of the best with my dear wife.

Curious - what's your favourite bevvie? Bonus point for detailing what you're hoping to crack out during the fast approaching festive season.

    ---

I'll go first. Favourite drop is limoncello... I've grabbed a cream version that I plan to whip out at our beach house for those sunny x-mas holidays (top it up with a bit of Prosecco as a bit of a spritz).

However I've got a few bottles of red from the Valtellina region that I'll pull out during dinner. Maybe a drop of port for dessert?

I love a cold beer! Back on the Pure Blonds.

My dive/fish buddy makes a lovely Limoncello which we often drink on the beach during our night fishing sessions.

Scotch will come out when we're playing Backgammon with a nice Greek Bouzouki playlist in the background. Johhny Walker Blue Label if I'm challenging my Uncle Nick who is an expert.

White Wine- A good Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio or Verdelho
Red Wine- A full bodied Shiraz or a softer Merlot.

Any sparkling reds from Peterson's Sparkling House.

Vodka especially when i make Lychee Martinis or also mixed with any thing citrus.

Gee there's some great songs about drinking. Hmm...maybe theme time in that other thread. Here's one you probably haven't heard, Brad Paisleys tribute to the demon drink. It's his birthday today too I believe.

Vodka mixed with juice or a cruiser or similar. Only once a year at Christmas or on very special, rare occasions.

Good idea. I don’t think we’ve had that theme before. Maybe you should suggest it in the thread?

Smirnoff despite the name and origin has not been Russian owned for a very long while.
