Should be an absorbing World Singles match up with Current World Champion Matthew Rose (UK) taking on Challenger David Lockwood (USA)

    Forthcoming tournaments
    • World Singles 76: Matthew Rose (champion) v. David Lockwood (challenger), 25 Oct 2024 (Wilkins Room, Downing College, Cambridge).
    • National Pairs, 26-27 Oct 2024 (Howard Assembly Room, Downing College, Cambridge).
    • Oxford Open, 17 Nov 2024 (St Hilda's College, Oxford).
    • Cambridge Open (70th anniversary of CUTwC), 25-26 Jan 2025.

This is the game's highest accolade, and is played on a challenge basis. A player must become the National Singles champion in order to challenge the current World Singles champion to an official match. These are played over seven games.

    How to Play Tiddlywinks

    Tiddlywinks Championship results

    World Singles

Matthew Rose (UK) defeated Dave Lockwood (USA) - 5 games to 1

I thought Dave would have put up a much better effort but he was well beaten - 28.5 to 13.5 overall in the 6 games played

    World Pairs

Jon Mapley/Matthew Rose ( UK) defeated Patrick Driscoll/Andy Purvis (UK) - 4 Games to 3 - 25 to 24 overall in the 7 games played

An all UK affair with no quarter asked for or given which went down to the wire - game 7 - Matthew Rose capped off a successful couple of days by winning both the singles and world pairs championship.

Tiddlywinks for the Olympics perhaps? - lots of winkers around the world and Australia has a Tiddlywinks Association.

I was going to post a thread for the Monopoly World Championships - the video's are rather long though - 2 to 3 hours plus

More like; lots of wankers around the chookpen and King Salvo has a Monopoly on this Association.
"Do you expect me to talk"? "No, Mr. Bond, I expect you to die".

Only 2-3 hours? Our family monopoly games go so long we have to spread it out over a few days. Mind you I’m a very mean monopoly player, anything to do with money management and economics is my forte. I couldn’t imagine watching a game though, not without playing.

I put my money on the council worker.

Rates keep increasing meanwhile there's 3 men/woman digging a hole with only one shovel in sight.

Haha yes I used to work with heap of economists and can confirm they love their boardgames (and trivia)

One (the tech dude who did all the complex modelling who was probably on the spectrum) had a massive room full of games, which he played daily (and brought to work for periods when we did a lot of all nighters). He was the master of board games and nobody ever got close to beating him.
