Whitechapel and Old Kent were Redfern. Mayfair and Park Lane were Point Piper.

All the fines would go in the middle and collected when you landed on Free Parking. You could buy and swap properties. This would often turn the game on it's head!

Rainy day Monopoly at North Bondi Surf Club was huge. We'd throw in $10 each and the winner would take it all. We'd break for Oporto back when it was delicious.

One (the tech dude who did all the complex modelling who was probably on the spectrum) had a massive room full of games, which he played daily (and brought to work for periods when we did a lot of all nighters). He was the master of board games and nobody ever got close to beating him.
Yes I love trivia games as well. I did the parent thing and played heaps of board games with the kids as they were growing up, including tiddly winks. But monopoly has always been my favourite from way back to my time as a kid. We still play it occasionally as a family (we just got the Canberra version lol), or trivial pursuit mostly these days.

Lol, love the Redfern bit. We play the free parking rules too, but properties need to be properly auctioned off or back to the bank under mortgage they go!

Played the same rules except I only ever landed on free parking when there was nothing in the middle!

The Canberra version is ok but could have been heaps better.

One of my cousins developed a game called 'Cambropoly' with his dad back in the day (on an old Mac Classic). His dad died recently so I should check whether he's got a copy sitting around somewhere and immortalise it by uploading it to the Macintosh Garden.

He coded it in Basic so there's every chance that I could port it to modern Windows/Mac computers without a lot of effort if he can find it.

Sounds like a plan. Good luck with it mate.

Yeah I was a bit disappointed.

Mapley and Rose will start favourites but the Lockwood's could cause an upset

Are you thinking of entering Mickie?

Would be more interesting than MLB anyway.
