A new KFC opened in the centre where i work at Marrickville Metro about 6 months ago, thought the place might be a bit slow seeing Frangos is the centre also but i was wrong, people still like the dirty bird. have to admit i have been there quite a few times now and the quality is a step up on some of their other outlets, you actually get chicken pieces with meat on them and every thing seems hot and fresh because of the high turn over. One day i felt like something a bit lighter so i ordered the burger combo which comes with one piece of chicken, usually you only get a scabby drumstick when i have had it before at other outlets, my order was up on the board but it suddenly disappeared so i waited a couple of minutes thinking they would call my name as they were extremely busy, ended up going to the counter to see what was happening and somehow it must have gone to someone else so by the time i got my order there was two pieces of chook in there instead of one and it was a breast piece and a thigh, not a scabby drumstick in sight, was happy with that even though i really wanted less. Interesting also when i have ordered a three piece feed i always seem to get decent pieces in the pack, not a wing or drumstick in sight, wonder when my luck will run out there.

It really depends on what store you go to as to what you get or how you are treated as a customer.
About 12 months ago our local in Tuggers got raised to the ground but finally there is some building activity on the site so we may be able to finally get a fortnightly fix of the dirty bird without going too far.

I have a KFC about 150-200 mtrs from where i live and honestly it has ranged from good to average to bad and then back to good or just ok, so many different owners over the years, mainly go to this one now for hang over munchies as it so close by and not much walking, if i feel like a real fried chicken hit i go to Clems at Newtown, bloody good comfort food.
I am impressed with the newer KFC at Marrickville Metro so far though.

We have a direct competitor here in the ACT called Kingsley’s and they used to be amazing but pretty much every store is now run by sub continentals and it just isn’t what it used to be.

Its funny what you say, the KFC almost across the road from where i live the quality always seems to go down when run by certain people that you mentioned., i have lost count of how many management changes that place has gone through over the last 28 years of living here.
Always wanted to try Kingsley's as i love fried chicken but i remember both you and MR had said the quality had gone down hill over the years.
Another place i like having fried chicken from is Henny Penny, Henny Penny used to around in Sydney in the late 60 s to mid 70 s but disappeared , they were still in many country spots in the early 80s but only exist in the Newcastle area now, the chicken when they were in Sydney back then sh*tted all over KFC, all breast or thigh pieces in their packs, if you wanted legs or wings they sold them separately, now it is so similar to KFC but still better, i usually call into the one at East Maitland when driving back from up the coast, it is the perfect break point coming back as it is 2 hours to Sydney from there and the perfect rest spot before hitting the madness of the M1.

Yes, Henny Penny used to be amazing. Too far for me now.
Speaking of fried chicken too far away, if you are ever travelling o/s, Poppeyes (mainly in the US) and Jollibee (mainly in the Phillipines) are awesome for the greasy crunchy chicken fix.

Another good one back in the 70 s and 80 s was Homestead chicken, their crumbed mushrooms were the bomb. KFC made sure they drove them out of business.

I remember homestead but don’t recall going there.
