Hilarious! I'd be thinking that things like having a dog would also discourage them?

I love possums but my corgis don't. My corgis are highly trained and usually ignore everybody except me (they walk by my side everywhere and won't follow anybody else or interact with other dogs/humans along the way), they hate possums. I often take them out for a wee at ~1am and their senses are next level if I take them anywhere near possums... expect lots of zombie-like growling from the nearby trees as my innocent little doggies smile as if they've done nothing. In reality they're some of the most devious animals out there as they sniff the possums out, quietly creep up on them (without me noticing) and start silly little cold wars with them, while smiling back at me all innocent and stuff. Sigh. I love my corgis and the possums but sometimes I wish they'd just ignore each other...

I can attest that my little mini foxie hates our two intruder possums with a passion. But he hasn’t managed to deter them despite all his barking and carrying on at them. I will often give him the green light to go and ‘yell’ at them too.

My doggo hates the possums and if I let her out for a wee during the night, it’s on! She sees it in the tree and flys off down the stairs like she’s got wings. She will come back eventually but then it’s a game and she wants to go outside again over and over throughout the rest of the night to chase the bloody things. Needless to say, I don’t get any sleep. Gets to a point where not only the possum gets the hose but my bitch almost does as well!

Raised beds are great as you're not working on the ground. They also keep the Bandicoots out and help with drainage which is important! Bunnings generally has a great range of seasonal seedlings if you couldn't be bothered starting from scratch with seeds. My veggies and herbs definitely taste better with home made compost. Having fresh herbs on hand takes your food to another level.

My go to in Sydney was the Bondi Rd Fruitologist. I no longer have that luxury as I live on the south coast so I do my best to grow some fresh produce. It can be fun and also frustrating!

My old man would bury fish frames in his veggie garden. Great for attracting the local Moggies.

Fish frames? In Canberra, we use whole carp. Great force garden.

Important to stick to the recommended ratios. Free pouring often ends in disaster!

At our old house I looked into the option as there were some modern composting toilets that I was considering using as part of a reno (i.e. extra toilet in the laundry without having to re-do the plumbing). The byproduct is a scentless, soil-like cake if you do it properly. However I read into it and decided not to as it's apparently a good way to end up giving yourself a bunch of nasty diseases.

Currently my compost bins are just garbage bins that I've drilled holes in the bottom of and dug into the ground. I put a mixture of veggie scraps & guinea pig bedding/waste in and it turns into rich soil very quickly (with heaps of worms...etc).
