The problem, though, is Jack, that this is a resources and land grab - Trump wanting Canada to be the 51st State, plus wanting to buy Greenland as some boat went there years ago, and Denmark has no claim to Greenland and his VP Vance is doing the rounds saying that Denmark has done nothing for Greenlanders.

Wanting a resources deal with Ukraine to strip them of their revenue stream for these and now wanting to do a deal with Putin for Russian resources.

All these countries and territories are resource-rich and especially in rare earth metals.

Trump's fondness for a despot like Putin is beyond belief - does he not know that any opponent of Putin's ends up either dead, exiled or jailed? Putin will be in power until at least 2036 as he has no opposition.

I don't think he has any real fondness for Putin, King..His goal is to get a ceasefire in place and end this war, all his tribulations have been negotiating tactics to that end. But Putin has unwisely underestimated him and pissed him off. He could kill Russia's economy if he wanted, but that would have world wide effects likely too. While ever Putins in charge, things are unstable which is a bit scary..
