Rather than primary tariffs which are direct between two countries/businesses. Sort of a virtual hostage scenario. But don't fret, at this point it's all a negotiating tactic.
One area that i have to stand corrected is i thought that sanctions ( and there has been 500 plus in place against Russia) would have a significant effect on the Russian economy. It hasn't. In fact it has strengthened the ties of the BRICS alliance (Brazil Russia India China and South Africa) that was formed to eventually move away from the US dollar. So now there are talks between other countries, for example Canada, in regards to joining BRICS. That's just business i guess. When you're not happy with the way you a treated, then you look around for someone who will offer you a better deal.
