On 6 December 1988, Jones was arrested in an underground public toilet on Broadwick Street in the Soho area of London. He was taken to the Mayfair police station and charged with 'outraging public decency' and 'committing an indecent act'.

Both Charges were later dropped due to lack of evidence.

I believe this was for having gay sex in a dunny, which was pretty common back in the day as people weren't allowed to be openly gay.

Not sure why the charges were dropped but I'm guessing the witnesses were ~20 men in a dunny who were all like 'I had my dick out because I was doing a slash... as you do in a toilet!!! Were you recording me in the dunny you frigging perv? That's obscene!!! One of these blokes is a famous Australian with significant political and media pull. He's hired some decent lawyers to defend us'. Prosecutors then be like 'eeerm... yeah maybe this isn't the coffin I wanna lie in... the cops have way too much time if they're doing nothing about DV but are hauling this mob of harmless sissies in'.

Again I'm not an Alan Jones fan (the guy's an a-grade @rsehole) and I'm happy to criticise him for being a rapist...etc if he's found guilty. However, I trust the courts to do their job without my input. There's a reason why I'm not a prosecutor (hint: commercial law is far less yucky).
