Also with your membership or valid ticket it's free travel to the Roosters or Swans games for me so doesn't cost a cent on the day.
Wish I could get free travel with my ticket.

I rarely travel with the public unless I’m flying and even then I distance myself by going business or first class.

Fair enough You do realise all this light rail is for a green style sustainable development 15-30 minute cities Where people can travel anywhere in their local area with sustainable transport at their door as opposed to using their cars Horrie has given a great example of it Another example here is I refereed a social day at Rozelle I got on light rail to Haymarket then walked two mins and jumped on another light rail which took me to Rozelle right near the park Bit over half hour travel time but very smooth efficient travel

The missus and I took the Indian Pacific a few years back, Perth to Sydney. Was a little expensive but well worth it. One thing off my bucket list.

When we went to the Paul McCartney concert at Allianz last year it was great just jumping on the light rail near George St to get there. It was really efficient. Canberras light rail has become so politicised. It may never reach the south side of the city. We just get forgotten down here.

Also, I loved catching the trains while in the UK recently and really enjoyed the train museum at York. Also, the underground network in London, though some of the stock is getting very old, was brilliant at getting you around the city so quickly.

The London Underground is unbelievably good Id get from the furthest North end to the South where I had to get on a light rail type service to Bearmondsey for work in 45 minutes

Impossible in Canberra mate. The stupid multi billion $ govt’s train set only follows one route. 90% of Canberra cannot get access to it unless they drive or bus it to a tram stop.

And that there lies the problem. We aren’t Europe. We are a small city by population but massive by area. A tram only in the Northside and MAYBE half way down the south will do nothing.

We don’t have the traffic issues in Canberra to warrant it.

When I work, I can drive accross Canberra from the south to the north in 20 mins. Would probably take me about an hour on a toy rail car.

What we need is a Bullet train for the south coast. Ulladulla to Allianz Stadium in 30 minutes would be great!

Extend it to Canberra and I’ll be going to Sydney more often.

I have been hearing about high speed trains between Sydney and Melbourne and even up to the Central Coast, Newcastle and Brisbane for the last 40 + years and still nothing, i will be dust before any of this happens.
