  • The let's get maggot and ramble about shyte thread...

Just downed a bottle of honey mead from a Mr Pickwick mug (didn't realise it fitted a whole bottle until after rhe pour) + a heap of Aperol spritz' and beers with some neighbours. Living the farkin dreeeam!!!

(Un)fortunately I don't have much to talk about. However, I figured I'd open a thread for any likeminded fans who've hit the bottle (or their favourite less publicly announced additive) and are looking to have a yak.

I've just hit the gym for a midnight sesh.....

      Oh sorry wrong thread....

Had a few Balters the other night, like you Batsey, at my age I usually stick to beers now.

Had a big night out at the Gong a couple of weeks ago, during the Santafest festivities, I mainly stuck to the beers but at the end of the night got into Canadian Club and dry. Ended the night at the Harp which was the pub of choice for the older crowd in Gong that night and the Kareoke was in full swing. Nah I didnt get up and belt out any classics sone friends did.

Needless to say I felt a bit dusty the next day....

Nearest gym for me is 40 minutes away and is something I've missed since moving out of Sydney. I surf most days, bike ride, walk etc however I miss that pump feeling and the benefits of resistance training so this year I'm building a small gym off the back of our coastal home.

I’ve chosen to let others get themself maggoted and just as I said I’d do I have stayed completely sober in January Monday will mark 5 weeks off the alcohol A great achievement when you consider I have 18 beers in the fridge Not sure how long I will stay off it for yet but I’m on no hurry to get back on it

My last big night in the Gong was at a house party in Woonona. A friend of a friend asked me over in 2010 and I went down on the train. Dunno why but his parents had given him their house for a couple of years while they travelled the world, including a license to crack open the liquor cabinet.

I passed out on the floor then got up in the morning still feeling drunk. A friend who is now a professional race car driver (won't name him but a notable one) drove me to Waterfall station in a ridiculously short amount of time using his hotted up Mazda 3 that he promised was 'all stock' (usually such driving freaks me out but he was highly skilled that it was a super smooth ride - nobody on the road either). Passed out on the train and it took me to Bondi.

Walked from Bondi to Paddington and saw Todd Carney alone in Moore Park slotting goals from all sorts of positions. Looked sharp as! Didn't interfere but he had a game that night and farkin cleaned up. I still remember just how focussed and elite he looked doing all that training by himself. Faaark he was such a waste!!! Wish he'd worked out for us long-term.
