    • I love my country and wouldn’t want to live anywhere else. Admittedly I’ve only been to 3 other countries in New Zealand, Scotland and England but I couldn’t imagine anywhere else being better than what we have here. In that sense I am patriotic. I love to beat the English and Indians etc in the cricket or rugby league, the Olympics. I’m proud when our national anthem is played or an Australian achieves something special. I don’t believe in patriotism that leads individuals to think their country is superior to other nations giving it the right to dictate to or rule others. That sort of patriotism lead to imperialism which in turn lead to the two world wars.

I wonder what Capitalist Paddo would think the world would look like if the Axis Powers won either WW1 or WW2. Does he think they would not have expanded their empires/control across the globe.

He can sleep soundly in his bed at night due to the sacrifices made by the folk in WW1 and WW2. - Lest We Forget

Hehe..... I thought I abused sarcasm to the max, but you have me covered my friend. That's almost black comedy.

When my business just had it’s best year; not only in turnover but also profit, why would I want to change?

This year is on track too. Choo, choo.. get on the train

                    • Here's one for old mate.

I've got a couple of great meme ideas too if somebody wants to make them. I'm thinking we could make:

                      1. A 4 year countdown with the label 'countdown to America being great again'. One must remember that Trump's gotta fark the country up for a second time before it can be made great again

                      2. A copy of Dutton's old 'vote no to the voice of division' posters... with a silhouette of Peter Dutton wearing a Pauline Hanson style wig next to it and advice on how to exclude the Libs from your voting slip.

                      • Remember when old mate looked like a baby and had hair?

                        • A failed attempt to silence Attorney-General Mark Dreyfus over a speech on anti-Semitism has prompted furore in parliament, with Anthony Albanese labelling the move as “completely unacceptable”.

Mr Dreyfus, who is Labor’s most senior Jewish minister and whose great-grandmother died during the Holocaust, was speaking about his actions against anti-Semitism following the October 7 terror attacks before Liberal MP Michael Sukkar called on him to “no longer be heard”.

                          ---

Love how the Libs called a Jewish dude an antisemite and then tried passing a motion for him to 'no longer be heard' when he returned serve and talked about his lived experience.

Great to see Dutton's voice of division has hijacked the Israel debate with a position that any Jews who disagree with their voice of division should not be heard. Do I need to repeat that all this rhetoric from Temu Trump is nothing to do with Jewish people and is all about power politics? Nope. Good to know we all understand this now.

Oh look, Kingaaaw's sharing some military facts from Professor Google. That's right, I forgot that everything to do with the armed forces is property of right-wingers. Please continue :P

We too need change like the US!

                            • If Dutton wins the election, it proves once and for all that Australia is as stupid as the United States. The Voice Referendum convinced me of this however Dutton becoming PM would cement that.

Things that I don't really understand because I don't have an atom of interest and always vote Lib like mum and dad did. Anyway, the blokes on Sky and 9 Entertainment sum it all up nicely for me - Albo and his Government are "do nothins".

It's a common sentiment and readily believed if the MS media doesn't do its job and inform. I'm no longer an ALP voter, the US puppet role doesn't appeal to me but then again, as Trump is demonstrating atm, the US can be brutal with uncooperative friends like Colombia so Albo is understandably cautious given the commitment of the Media/Libs pro American alliance.

Not being a supporter aside, it's only fair that we look at the work of the ALP Government during this term and reflect on the shibboleth "Do nothing Government". We might also reflect on the former Government "achievements" by comparison.

A "do nothing" list should be a short one so here goes:

                                * Budget Surpluses. Libs 0 - ALP 2 out of 2 after inheriting a huge structural deficit.

                                * Up to13% pay rise for Aged care health workers.

                                * increased Medicare safety net threshold. And the establishment of emergency bulk billing Medicare clinics.

                                * Reputedly the strongest multi National tax evasion measures in the world. This is a biggie, acclaimed by international agencies. You should research it, you won't find anything in the msm.

                                * Criminalization of wage underpayment, now designated Theft.

                                * The largest minimum wage increase in over a decade.

                                *
Cheaper prescription medicine, paid domestic violence leave.

                                * Legislation to make Banks and social media responsible for scams which rob people of thousands of dollars.

                                * Laws protecting gig economy slave workers .

                                * Reducing inflation from 6% to less than 3% .

                                * Finishing the NBN with fibre to the premises after the Libs' copper disaster. Remember "We'll do it better and cheaper" - Yeah right.

                                * Stabilisation of our trade relations with China our biggest trade partner. The Libs wanted to destroy it just to curry favour with the Empire.

                                * Achieving the release of Julian Assange (the bravest Australian). Assange's lawyer credited Albanese's "statesmanship" as key to the release.

                                * A drive towards renewables after years of Lib inaction. We are now on track for a 42% reduction in emissions by 2030 and 80% renewables by 2030 which Dutton is pledged to stop.

It would appear, then, that the Government has been doing quite a bit. The Libs have opposed all of this reform all along so as to create the impression of ''do nothing" though, despite best efforts, the opposition to things that benefit citizens didn't work ultimately (thanks to the Greens) but what the Hell, the right wing msm just keeps up the line. Working in tandem with the Libs, our media has only scantily covered these policy achievements. Capitalists don't like much that doesn't favour business.
                                This is a great post.

Unfortunately, the drongos that watch Sky News, Channels 7 & 9 and read the Telegraph are fed the opposite.

The only hope we have is that the age group of 18-30 don't engage in the sewer news. Their votes will be critical in the election.
