An absolute disaster of a period for the UK under Labouring on though (1974 to 1979) - strikes strikes and more strikes, power blackouts etc - winter of discontent - even the grave diggers went on strike - 6 or so month garbage collection strike - London was a pile of rubbish it was everywhere.

Back to the Federal election, I see Albo has promised to throw more money at Medicare. I support Medicare but I worry about how much money will be needed to make it sustainable. On the other hand, very, very surprisingly Dutton is backing this. I do recall he wanted to introduce a $7 co-payment back in 2014. A bit of an about face isn’t it?

China's mixed economy - capitalist (private sector) and "socialist market economy" ( public and state owned entities) - The Capitalist ( Private Sector) contribute 60% of China's GDP and 80% of urban employment and 90% of new jobs due to China's openness to Foreign Companies and investment.

The Libs are worried that their refusal to disclose cuts until AFTER the election will encourage scare campaigns as it bloody well should, after all Abbott assured us that there would be no change to a lot of services only to surprise the numbnuts who voted for him with the 2014 budget. With that in mind and given the Libs' past hostility to Medicare, why would they not have another go at dismantling/privatising it?

No prob with Medicare MR, we are a rich country and fiddling with Medicare is suicide electorally. The electorate has lost faith in privatisation because it takes no great intelligence to question how private enterprise does things better and cheaper yet still needs to reward the shareholders. The shareholders got a huge cut from the revised NBN because we switched to rubbish copper. They got all the money saved from not using fibre to the premises. It is now being revisited because it was so God awful. And yet some of yez want that bunch of incompetent lightweights back??

A bigger concern is the long term affordability of the NDIS. Corporate contractors have been ripping it off for all it's worth under the Libs. The land of mateship and caring for others my arse but the fact is that a staggering 1 in 5 has a disability. For decades they have been largely the responsibility of the parents which must have been horrendous for most. Of course religions didn't help. As mentioned before the Labor type political parties (AUS/UK/Canada/USA etc) were founded on Marxist - Leninist ideology and principles from the Trade Union movement who wanted a political say and representation in Parliament but have moved away from this philosophy to embrace capitalism and liberalism.
