Ir’s a very simple analogy and I’m looking forward to the constructive criticism coming my way.
Having a relative involved in this peace keeping forces in East Timor there were a Signiant number of Americans involved in various support and intelligence roles.
The US is a major two way trading partner as well - top 5
High Noon reminds me of the attitude some have about the USA - Until they need the USA that is .

Maybe we should just let them walk all over us then? That’s a fair partnership isn’t it?

Im with you when it comes to the Ukraine conflict and Putin however the US is no longer on the same page. The appointment of Russian sympathiser Tulsi Gabbard (or as Russian state media calls her, “our friend Tulsi”) as the United States Director of National Intelligence tells you which side they are on. She publicly made the most absurd statements about why Russia had to invade Ukraine- and she double downed on them. Would you feel comfortable about our country sharing intelligence with her? I mean her boss hid classified documents in his dunny after leaving office, so it's safe to say he isn't going to impose any guard rails on her.

Quite amazingly, Tulsi tells it like it is. There's a context to the war that you and Randolfo blithely dismiss. Worldwide, it is only the West that subscribes to the wanton aggression out of nowhere view, 90% of the world sees it differently. It sees US aggression. But not you, far too well informed by the right wing media you consume. Randy, too, is very lucid and insightful in comments re Palestine and he sees, at last apparently, that The US is not the ally we should depend on. Malcolm Fraser, your erstwhile glorious leader, said it straight out but the cognitive dissonance would have been such that you probably ridiculed ol' Mal as a heretic preferring the opinions of the Year 10 leavers on Sky.
